25.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care - Alkimos This week our focus has been People Who Help Us: Teachers The children made gifts for their teachers to show their appreciation towards them. It was a nice gesture to say thank you. They made D.I.Y plastic bottle apples, pencil holders out of toilet roll, painting , a pop-up book, and card. ... One of our educators Melissa made an Atlantis Library with the children at the beginning of the week. The children drew their favourite book. Once completed they pinned it up on the board. The children have taken lots of interest in reading here at the service. On Thursday 11th the children and educators spoke about R U OK DAY. We asked the children if they knew what R U OK DAY was about? Some of the children said, Its always good to ask people if there ok every day, not just on R U OK DAY. We also did activities that involved everyone to ask each other if they were okay? some dancing and card making. The children and educators would like to wish Lewis a Happy 6th Birthday for Sunday! 25.01.2022 Atlantis after School care - Alkimos Our focus for this week was NAIDOC week and Diwali. The children had so much fun learning and creating! We used arts and crafts to create boomerangs and the Aboriginal flag. The children each created their own unique boomerang and they looked amazing! We also painted some rocks red, yellow and black (the colours of the Aboriginal flag) and we displayed the flag in our garden area. It looks beautiful. ... Wednesday was Remembrance Day. The children made poppies to remember and acknowledge those who were killed. Later in the week, we celebrated the Diwali festival by designing our own henna hand tattoos. They were beautiful. We would also like to wish Flynn a big happy birthday for tomorrow! Happy Birthday Flynn We had such an amazing week this week! Have a great weekend everyone and we will see you all next week

24.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care Yanchep Beach This week the children have been displaying their creativity skills. We have built lego towns and created our own picture books. We have also been taught some new yoga poses from children to help us stay calm and relax! ... We hope everyone has had a great week

24.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care Ocean Keys- Setting up a post office becomes really fun as we write letters to our friends and post them with lots of different stamps, the children thoroughly enjoy writing letters so we decided to start writing letters to the local community.

24.01.2022 Atlantis After School- Alkimos Beach. R u ok day- we started talking about R U ok day on Monday. We asked the children- What does it mean to be ok? What does that look like? Things you can do to help someone who may not ok. The children responded amazingly. Some of our activities included balloon play- these them became emoji balloons, emoji masks , which then turned in to face painting . Writing certificates for our friends which have been shared around the school. We will come continue this afternoon with the emoji movie and some meditation.

22.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care - Ocean Keys We have had a wonderful and busy week here at Ocean Keys! With many new activities and environments we have had a ball! Our nature park has turned into the Atlantis Zoo and the children are thoroughly enjoying playing zoo keepers and exploring the zoo as visitors! We have also encorporated an animal hospital, cultural corner, Fathers Day activities and charcoal painting, our week has been jam packed with fun activities and experiences!

22.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care - LJBC Here at LJBC we have been focusing on our Health and Wellness, giving the children opportunity to play and enjoy a variety of activities and environments. Creativity was flowing early on this week as the children used lots of different arts and craft resources and recycled materials to create paintings, pictures and even houses. They absolutely loved being able to freely follow their own interests and using their imagination to produce their... very own individual creations. We enjoyed lots of outdoor play including soccer and tennis. Apple doughnuts were a big hit - creating their own healthy snack for afternoon tea. We began creating a gratitude jar for children and educators to write what or who they are grateful or happy for and we will continue to build on this and look back at it in the future. We also made mindfulness jars to enjoy in our quiet / relaxation space. Have a great weekend

21.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care Ocean Keys- Relaxation is a great way to ease stress and calm your mind, to help us do this we planted lots of different herbs and succulents while playing relaxation music, this way a great way to help create a zen atmosphere.

20.01.2022 Atlantis After School- Peter Moyes This week at our service we have been focusing on the theme Deep Blue Sea for science week. The children have painted their own jelly fish, created sea creatures out of coloured play dough, learnt about the different types of marine life in our oceans and read books with lots of facts! Next week we are going to look at different types of sharks and their characteristics. We also spent our time playing soccer outside, we used our imagination with the blocks and cups, entered pictures in to the colouring competition, ate delicious afternoon tea and shared lots of laughter with our friends.

19.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care - Alkimos. This week our focus has been on people Who Help Us: Emergency Response Team We have had lots of discussions on what this means, the children now understand when they need to call 000 and which emergency they would ask for and why.... We have been very creative this week. Activities include making Emergency Response vehicles, ID badges, hats and bracelets. As the weather has warmed up, we have been able to go outside every day. We have had fun on the playground hanging around and lots of outside activities and games. Have a great weekend we hope to see you next week for lots more fun.

19.01.2022 Atlantis After School and Vacation Care Kinross Last week was a fun week here at Kinross We did some fun slime making, made a Hair Salon and styled each other’s hair. Cricket is always a winner this time of the year with Gethin bringing in his Man of the Match medal. Fantastic achievement Gethin.... We also had a very in depth chat about Starwars as Hunter made a Baby Yoda from our iron beads. Educator Michelle bought in a real Light Saber to enjoy. We also grew our own Dinosaur and made our own Stuffer teddies. Busy and super fun week had by everyone. Big Happy Birthday to Penny. We would also like to welcome Amanda to our team at Kinross. Amanda has a world of knowledge and is our 2IC. Have a fabulous week and see you all next week.

19.01.2022 Atlantis Alkimos Beach At the beginning of the week we were treated to a performance that was organised by some of our children - there was lots of silly dancing and funny faces being pulled! We have also been working on our self-help skills including making toasted sandwiches for afternoon tea, pancakes for breakfast, as well as engaging in some exciting art activities.... On Wednesday we made the most of the beautiful weather as we all went over to the kindy area where the children were able to play a mixture of sports, play on the playground, as well as some gardening. We are all looking forward to the beginning of the school holidays which commence next week!

19.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care Ocean keys- Making patterns and shapes on the overhead projector gives us a different perspective on shapes and how we can see things differently, the children really enjoy making their own shapes and making puppets with their hands.

18.01.2022 Atlantis after School Care - Alkimos This week our focus has been People who help us: Parents and educators. This week at Atlantis Alkimos after school care the children have been expressing their feelings through writing and communication towards their parents and educators. ... We also got our creative mind one. The children have been making gifts for their dad for Fathers Day this Sunday 6th. The children made joke posters, cards, and handprint painting. During the week as well, the children wrote on leaves and stuck it on our board of branches. We called it The tree of thoughts and kindness about Atlantis Alkimos and Educators. The children wrote some nice messages to us and the service. This was presented on Educators Day Our educators felt very special and happy. Thank you for all your hard work and effort you guys put in. Our educators Lynnee and Jade got involved with the jumps and throws on Wednesday at Alkimos Primary School. Helping Mr Fenn and the teachers do measurements, sorting out the children in their position and presenting ribbons. Lynnee also helped the P&C today at the sports carnival. Congratulations to our star of the month Alex. Who won the $20 voucher for August. Well done Alex! Also, we would like to wish Seb a very big Happy 9th Birthday! We look forward to next week. 17.01.2022 Atlantis After School - Yanchep Beach Last week we celebrated national science week! The children at the service love investigating and exploring so this has been a huge interest for Yanchep Beach Atlantis! Weve done a walking water experiment which was amazing to watch, we couldnt believe our eyes, and tried to grow some salt crystals, which we are still wanting for. (Learning outcome 4.2 - children develop a range of skills and processes such as problem solving, enquiry,... experimentation, hypothesising, researching and investigating) Weve also felt a greater sense of belonging and connection to our local community over the previous weeks due to our visits to our local police station and our nature walks around our local parks. (Learning outcome 2.1 - childcare develop a sense of belonging to a group and communities and an understanding to reciprocal rights and responsibilities for active community participation)

17.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care - Alkimos Beach This week we have been working on our self help skills - with our before school group cooking eggs this morning for breakfast, whilst we have pancakes on the menu for tomorrow. We have also been engaging in activities that revolve around sun smart, with the children learning about sun safety by learning about wearing appropriate protection such as hats, sunscreen and cool clothing when engaging in outdoor play.... We have had lots to celebrate this week- Fathers Day and Educators Day. We also sent a letter to Ocean Keys Atlantis asking if they would like to join us for an international tea party We cant wait for next weeks adventures.

15.01.2022 Atlantis after School Care - Alkimos This week our focus has been People who help us: Firefighters It had been another great week at our service. The children have got very active and involved in different types of activities.... On Monday we had a guest speaker from The Gold Mines Darlot. Harley is the vice-captain in the ERT (Emergency Response Team) and came in to speak to the children about his job role and explain why it is important we know what to do in an emergency. Wednesday our beautiful friend Natalie came in with baby Alice to visit the children and educators. Oh my, she was just adorable. The children could not keep away from baby Alice. Thank you for visiting us. The sun is out, and it has been a lovely week. The children have had lots of fun playing outside and soaking up the sun. A few of the children have recommended some games they played in school. We have also been very artistic and creative from doing handprint firefighters, free painting and making vehicles out of recycled materials. We say goodbye and thank you to Nikki for all her hard work here at Atlantis Alkimos. We wish you all the best! From the children and educators at Alkimos we would like to wish Lynnee a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow and thank you for bringing special treats in for us and the kiddies. 14.01.2022 Atlantis after School Care - Alkimos This week our focus has been People Who Help Us: Builders. Builders are our community helpers. Some of our children here in the service have family and friends that are in the industry. From plumbers, window and glass makers, contractors and more! ... Happy 6th Birthday for Wednesday Zac! The children have got active and creative this week. We did a Lego competition, built our imagination out of recycle materials, made loom bands, stencil art with paint, built a fort and outdoor play. Its been such a lovely week with the sun out. We went to the garden, picked up litter and did some big hunting. The children have taken interest in bugs and insects this week as well. We celebrated this afternoon with a special afternoon tea and disco where our children and educators danced the day away! Our parents were even lucky enough to get an R U OK DAY treat!

12.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care Ocean Keys- St Patrick’s Day is the feast day of St Patrick, a patron saint of Ireland. Today we Celebrated this special occasion by sharing a feast at afternoon tea, taking photos in our photo booth, learning some facts about St Patrick’s Day and making some gooey green slime. The children also enjoyed relaxing in our gratitude garden with our new fidget pop it’s. Hope you all had a great St Patrick’s Day!

11.01.2022 Atlantis Alkimos Beach - What an amazing week we have had celebrating NAIDOC week, Rememberence day and opening our new Alkimos Hair Salon. Our children loved painting a Rainbow Serpant and learning about the timeline of Aboriginal culture in Australia. We also opened our own hair salon where the children could use their imagination and create many wonderful hairstyles (educators too).

10.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care - Peter Moyes This week we continued our ocean exploration and sketched some pictures of the creatures that live there! On Thursday we celebrated R U Okay Day and talked about the importance of checking up on our friends and family - we even made some yummy treats to share! One of our lovely parents donated some cardboard for us to engage in construction, weve had so much fun creating and building! Weve also been blessed with warm weather at the end of this week so have enjoyed playing outside in the sun with our friends

09.01.2022 Atlantis Alkimos Beach This week the children have been showcasing their painting skills, both with normal paint as well as trying their hand with water colours. Their were some very impressive designs. Our before school group made pancakes morning, whilst our garden has been making some steady progress since we first planted our fruits and vegetables.... We have so far played dodgeball and afl in our sports sessions, with the children improving their skills and understanding with every game they play. We hope everyone has a great rest of the week

07.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care- Peter Moyes Take a look at all the fun we shared this week. The children were super excited to set up our Christmas corner- Santa’s Workshop. They have been involved in writing letters to Santa, creating crafts and competing in a friendly colouring competition to display in our create corner. We have enjoyed some beautiful weather outside and shared many laughs. We can’t wait for another wonderful week next week. We hope all of our families have a lovely weekend!

As we explore the deep blue sea around us we do lots of cool science experiments, this helps us understand more about the world around us, we also have fun creating small worlds that reflect on the ocean life and whats beneath.

06.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care - Alkimos Beach. On Friday we where visited by Emily Day-Lewis, for a yoga lesson. We started with an Acknowledgement to the traditional owners of the land, followed by some groovy warm ups. Then we moved into our stretching and finally some meditation.... 05.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care - Peter Moyes & Ocean Keys Today we joined services to take part in the International Fairy Tea Party 2020 We dressed up in sparkly fairy wings and used our magic wands to create a magical afternoon!!... The weather was a little windy, but that didnt stop us as we enjoyed lots of yummy treats and played outside in the nature playground The world map represents all of the Countries taking part in International Fairy Tea Parties.

04.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care Ocean Keys- Basic First Aid is a great tool to help children boost their communication and leadership skills at an early age. The children practiced basic first aid and CPR on their friends and educators, and used boxes to make their own ambulance with Kurt. Noah shows off his fancy cooking skills as he teaches the children how to make gourmet crepes with berries and cream.

04.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care- Peter Moyes What a FUN week we have had! We celebrated NAIDOC week, Remembrance Day, Crazy Hair/Sock Day and our lovely educator Annette’s Birthday. We also prepared our Christmas care packages that we are sending off to the troops. We explored our nature playgrounds, played many outdoor sports, used our hands to mould clay and create paintings. 04.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care- Peter Moyes BOOK WEEK This week some of the children visited our school library. We purchased two books at the book fair. They were both related to our ocean theme! Today everyone dressed up as their favourite characters from a book. We had so many children dressed as amazing characters! ... We also sadly said goodbye to our amazing educator Nikki. She has worked for Atlantis for nearly 5 years. We are so sad to see her leave! But we know she is going to bloom and succeed in her future endeavours with that beautiful smile and infectious positive energy.

02.01.2022 Atlantis After School Alkimos Beach - Loose parts play is always a popular activity, it enables children to use their imaginations and creativity. Some children have even created their own natural mini world using the seedlings we are waiting to plant in our planter box.

02.01.2022 Atlantis After School Care Ocean keys- What a fun filled week this has been with lots of different activities including art with Wendy, relaxation in our new garden space and creating lots of cool patterns with our geo sticks.

02.01.2022 Atlantis after school care - Alkimos. This week our focus has been on People Who Help Us: Doctors. We have had lots of discussions on the role of the doctor and how that compares to the nurses role. This led to what the children would like to do when they grow up, think we have some future doctors and nurses amongst us. We have continued the hospital role play the children have been very enthusiastic to diagnose and cure the educators as well as each other!... We have been very creative the week activities include making x-rays of our arm, using recycled boxes the children created ambulances, we also designed face masks and created some great work with the alfoil. We wished Koby Lee a very Happy Birthday she turned 9 this week. We finished the week with our Pupil Free Day celebrating Red Nose Day. Red Nose Day is a day to help stop little lives being cut short and ensures every grieving family gets the support they need. Children and educators wore red today and got involved fun activities. We baked cupcakes, decorated the cupcakes, did face painting, pin the red nose on the clown and had a play outside. Have a great weekend and we hope to see you next week for lots more fun.
