20.01.2022 The sunny weather is reminding us of local places we love in the summertime and for Melbournians, it’s true that the Mornington Peninsula is a top pick for both beaches and Pinots alike. If you’re heading down that way this summer, we recommend you pay a visit to @quealywines and say Hi to Kathleen Quealy, one of Australia’s Legends of the Vine and a true pioneer when it comes to Italian varieties. Known for ridiculously delicious Pinot Gris/Grigio and Pinot Noir, Kat an...d the team also have a solid history experimenting with aromatic varieties like Friulano, Moscato Rosa and Sangiovese. We currently have in store a selection of their single vineyard and regional Pinot Noirs to enjoy, spanning from the delightfully aromatic, late ripening Musk Creek vineyard in Red Hill to the rich, earthy red soils of the Tussie Mussie site in Merricks North. If you can’t enjoy the hospitality of Kathleen herself, allow us to introduce you by the bottle - now available in store at Atlas.

19.01.2022 Here we go again We’ve assembled a killer lineup for the latest instalment of our Weekly Six and we're kicking things off with drops from a number of handpicked boutique producers across Australia - Grüner Veltliner from Adelaide Hills’ own Hahndorf Hill who are known for producing some of the best examples of the varietal outside of its native Austria, a mouthwateringly fresh and fragrant Field Blend from Tasmania’s Wolfe at the Door, plus a tantalising and vibrantly s...tructured Margaret River Semillon from 2016 Young Gun Winemaker winner Josephine Perry of Dormilona. For the reds, begin with a crunchy and plummy Pinot Noir from Tillie J the passion project of Giant Steps Assistant Winemaker Natallie Johnston, follow with a velvety and concentrated Barbera d’Alba crafted from fruit sourced across vineyards in Italy’s Piedmont and finish with a rich and approachable Malbec from France’s Languedoc. Grab yours in time for the weekend See more

16.01.2022 Need a spooky themed bottle for tonight’s Halloween festivities? Trick or treat yourself to one of our mildly creepy/gothic themed bottles that is sure to fright and delight (note. This is not a trick these are all delicious). We are open tonight until 8.00pm for all your take away vinous needs.

15.01.2022 Sun is shining, weather is sweet! This week we’re pouring the delightful Mutual Promise Nebbiolo Rosé from the King Valley - a passion project of one of our favourite suppliers Evan Milne of @stockonhand. Intensely aromatic with bright red fruits, orange peel and dried rose petals with a generous amount of structure on the palate from those fine-grained Nebbiolo tannins. It’s a glorious day for Rosé

15.01.2022 It feels so good to be back... #melbournehospo

12.01.2022 We believe it was Nostradamus that said The older the cheese the gooder* the cheese This delicious, ivory white, aged goats-milk cheese is matured by multigenerational farmhouse cheese makers and affineurs Van der Heiden in Krimpenerwaard- just south of Gouda. In Holland. The cheese is made from the milk of grass pastured goats and is matured for at least 12 months on pine boards. When mature the wheels are cloth bound and sealed in wax. The result is a complex and cleanl...y finishing cheese with characteristic goaty aromas, hints of caramel, and a floral sweetness with the occasional pop of salt (calcium lactate) crystals. Dynamite with a flinty Sauvignon Blanc- we recommend the Petit Clos by Clos Henri in Marlborough, both available in store and on pour all weekend See more

12.01.2022 We have been overwhelmed with the support we have received over the last few days by customers wanting to come and share their joy with us on Melbourne’s lockdown restrictions easing. There have been bubbles drunk a plenty, so tonight we have chosen to continue the trend by offering this stunning Premier Cru Champagne from Forget Brimont. A brut style sourced from the Montange de Reims, this Meunier dominant blend is super fresh and elegant with crisp green apple, white strawberry and fine mineral characters. Available tonight only by the glass at Atlas Vinifera.

12.01.2022 The Australian Wine Industry lost a beautiful soul today. We are truly heartbroken - our love goes out to the entire @ochotabarrels family.

11.01.2022 Fresh off the boat ! Torres Iberian Black Truffle chips are back in store! Elevate your snack game

11.01.2022 Summer is just around the corner so that calls for pink bubbles and chilled reds, right? We’ve managed to score just the ticket from Piedmontese producer 1897 Crotin - first up their Gringnolino d’Asti that brims with a ton of bright red fruit, aniseed and orange peel with plenty of crunch on the palate and just the right amount of tannin. Next up is a deliciously dry Freisa/Pinot Noir-based sparkling Rosé that delivers a Campari-like punch with blood orange, rose hip and red current, an underling earthiness with piercing acidity and a savoury finish. Perfect for those days when you just can’t stay inside

10.01.2022 A longtime staff favourite is back! Hailing from southwestern France’s Languedoc, Jeff Carrel’s Morillon Blanc is crafted from botrytised Chardonnay grapes (ultra-sweet and flavourful grapes that result from having been deliberately allowed to undergo noble rot and are usually reserved for dessert wines). In this case, the cuvée has been fermented to dryness while keeping the expression of the incredibly concentrated botrytised grapes. Voluptuous and textural on the palate with notes of ripe pineapple, quince fruit, caramel and vanilla Cremé Brûlee, streamlined acidity and a toasty, buttery finish. Chardonnay, just not as you know it...yet

09.01.2022 Richmond has only done it again For those who are still feeling the party spirit we have plenty of premium bubbles chilling in the fridge for the occasion. Pop on down

09.01.2022 Our latest weekly six reminds us of how far we’ve come in the last few months, how many new producers we’ve seen come out of the woodwork, how creative the industry we love has become and how important our community is to so many people crafting so many wines. From near and far, our latest mixed six starts with a Rosato style Cava from Penedes on the sunny Spanish coast, local examples of Chardonnay and Shiraz from rising winemaking stars Parcel and Blood Moon Wines, a beautifully aromatic Pinot Grigio from South Australian staple talent - Steve Pannell, and the return of one of our favourites: Vinteloper Touriga Nacional. We know you don’t need another excuse to crack open some delicious vino, but we figured we’d give you the option all the same. Now available in store and online at Atlas Vinifera.

07.01.2022 Ranked among the biggest names in Catalan natural wine, eighth-generation winemaker Jordi Llorens and his family base themselves in the village of Blancafort in the Conca de Barberà, situated directly west of Barcelona. Since taking over the winery in 2008, Jordi has sought to produce organic wines of the highest quality while placing emphasis on respecting the environment. Planted in a natural amphitheatre, the soil beneath the vines is truly unique with heavy concentrations... of limestone allowing the resulting wines to retain their phenomenal aromatics and tension as well as balanced and delicious ripeness and depth. The 2016 Blankaforti is a silky, gorgeously perfumed blend of Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah while the Blan 5.7 is a slightly copper-hued blend of Cava varieties Macabeo and Parellada that balances retrained and delicate Mediterranean fruit weight with incredible freshness and structure on the palate. Tiny quantities of these distinctive drops are available so get in while you can! See more

07.01.2022 So nice to have some of our favourite winemakers from outside the city to be able to come in and show us their new releases! We’re looking forward to some delicious new drops landing on our shelves in time for summer @rouleurwines

06.01.2022 Richmond has only done it again For those who are still feeling the party spirit we have plenty of premium bubbles chilling in the fridge for the occasion. Pop on down

03.01.2022 Lucious and golden, Albana is along with Sangiovese the most representative wine of north-eastern Italy’s Emilia-Romagna. Super versatile and complex, it can be made in a range of styles from sparkling, dry and sweet. Plus, its flavours are balanced by the presence of tannin an unusual feat for a white wine! When vinified to dryness, the resulting wines are structured with pure fruit flavours that are underpinned by piercing acidity. Tenuta La Viola’s Frangipane Albana has the hallmarks of a classically Italian light-bodied white with delicate notes of red apple, cooked pear, hints of fennel seed and almond meal with the chewy phenolics on the palate underpinned by a crystalline minerality. Sunshine in a bottle

03.01.2022 They’re back!! New vintages of Atlas Vinifera favourites @ghost_rock_wines Supernatural range are back in store. This year’s Summer Skins skinzy blend is a mix of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Riesling cofermented with wild yeast and partial solids - the perfect weekend wine for those exploring the overlap between orange wines, rosés and chilled reds. Their 2019 Pet-Nat - this year a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc - has always been a ripper, with rounded fruit flavours and a super textural palate enlivened with the bright acidity of the Savvy B. Along with their Pinot Noir, the supernatural range are all made unfined, unfiltered and with minimal sulphur - perfect for picnics in the sun.

02.01.2022 Wrap your tentacles around @empireofdirtwines latest releases! Winemaker Tash Webster has been making her mark in Geelong’s thriving wine scene with her dedication to her craft rightfully earning her a place in the 2020 Young Gun of Wine Top 50. Tash’s latest drops include Lyra - an elegant and vibrantly citrus-driven Chardonnay sourced from a single vineyard site on the Bellarine Peninsula, the deliciously fruity and structured Venom Pet-Nat that swirls together Chardonnay, Gamay and Pinot Noir and the Valkyrie Field Blend that combines balanced fruit weight, intense aromatics and racy acidity. Safe to say, we’re loving these .

02.01.2022 Located in the easternmost part of the Loire Valley in central France, Sancerre AOC possesses some of the most enviable white wine terroir in the country. The wines are exceptionally light and aromatic with linear acidity, distinctive notes of tart citrus fruit and a core of intense flinty minerality - all hallmarks of the appellation that has become the most famous name in French Sauvignon Blanc. The clay, flint and limestone-rich soils of the region lend an unmistakable sty...le to the varietal, with the wines typically unoaked in order to preserve their distinct flavours and aromas. An excellent introduction to the region’s wines, Domaine Christian Salmon’s 2019 Sancerre is made in a classic, fresh style with an intense nose of lively citrus fruit, pear and gooseberry with a palate that is structured, elegant and not without trademark mineral depth. The racy acidity of Sancerre lends itself remarkably well to food like creamy Loire Valley goat’s cheese, fresh oysters or lightly grilled white fish Available online or in store today! See more

01.01.2022 For those of you that have been loving the @alkimiwines Skin Contact Marsanne currently available by the glass, two more of of Stuart Dudine’s new releases have made it to our shelves! Both made in a ultra low-intervention approach from 25 year old vines in Silvan, Yarra Valley; we have a super light and fruity Syrah that is more that capable of taking a chill, plus a clean and pretty Pet Nat jam full of delicious red fruit, spice and floral notes Pack one of these in your next picnic basket

01.01.2022 Hitting our shelves for the first time are a couple of tantalising Tasmanian drops from Wolfe at the Door a funky side project from Young Gun of Wine 2020 Top 50 Hugh McCullough of Wellington and Wolfe. Naturally made with minimal fuss approach, Wolf at the Door’s releases change every year depending on what fruit is available, the season and batch; with all wines designed to be fresh, bright and crunchy no matter the cuvée. The 2020 vintage has seen the release of a crisp yet gorgeously textural blend of Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewürtraminer and a vibrant Pinot Noir that opens with aromas of crunchy red cherry and cinnamon, taut acidity and finely-integrated tannin. We may or may not have the only case of the Pinot Noir on the mainland so get down early while stocks last
