16.01.2022 COVID-19 bucked the Cape in 2020! Weipa Bullride committee sadly announces the cancellation of the 2020 Weipa Bullride. While the decision is disappointing, the... safety of the competitors, community, patrons, sponsors, volunteers and stock is the most important consideration. With the current restrictions in place, the Bullride event that we know and love just couldn’t occur this year. Thank you to the community and the generosity of our loyal sponsors for their support. Work continues at the new Weipa Showgrounds to build and develop the arena and facilities. Weipa Bullride committee excitedly looks forward to the inaugural event being held and wishes everyone well through these challenging times. The 2021 Weipa Bullride will be held 20-21 August, 2021.
