09.01.2022 During training we hear a common concern in regards to performing CPR in the current COVID-19 Pandemic environment. Q: Do we have to apply breaths when performing CPR? A: Quick simple answer is - No. However, the ARC guidelines recommend to apply breaths if able and willing. ... Another recommendation is placing a surgical face mask or a light cloth over the patients mouth and nose to reduce the risk of air particles exhaling from the patient onto the rescuer while performing CPR.
