23.01.2022 You are always important to us. For 25 out of the last 30 years, Labor’s rule of Qld’s parliament has strangled Qld’s farmers. On May 3rd 2018, this Govt passed the 40th amendment to the Vegetation Management Act in 20 years. It was one straw too many. You have supported us through drought, through buying Australian first, through your great love of our farmers and Australian food. After 25 years there are less and less of us left. So on October 31st your #voteforfood is... extremely important to us. We all have issues in our backyard that are important, some of us just really don’t like to engage politically at all, but this vote is for all of us. It is for food security, knowing we will always be able to walk into a supermarket and buy Australian grown, it is for the rights of our own property, each of our Bonnie Doon’s and it is for the culture and community of our outback, a place we all cherish. 16.01.2022 It seemed confusing why two days ago the Labor Premier made a commitment to cut water prices by 50% for vegetable growers and only 15% for all other farmers, particularly when some farmers use the same water in the same infrastructure for growing both vegetables and other crops (which price will they pay?). It now becomes clear that it was a paid advertorial for Labor, cash for votes, pork barrelling or call it what you will. The reality is it's a fake reduction for all Que...ensland farmers because since 2006 the Labor Govt have increased the price of water by 75% for the Mareeba Dimbulah catchment, 104% for the Burdekin-Haughton, 115% for the Bundaberg, 149% for the Lower Mary and 138% for Eton. 11.01.2022 This is an inshore reef off the coast of northern Queensland, one of those ones that Queensland Labor told us last year were devastated by farmers. We know that 97% of the Reefs are untouched by land sediments, the 3% are inshore reefs which do not form part of the Great Barrier Reef where no land sediment has been detected. So do as the Premier suggests.....don a snorkel, head out to an inshore reef and have a look for yourself at how amazing it is.
