25.01.2022 We are so chuffed that our 2018 Hard Hill Road Writer’s Block Riesling was named one of the Best Rieslings in the country and received a massive 97 points in the 2021 Halliday Wine Companion! The 2018 vintage has sold out, but I have raided my cellar and have found a few bottles that I’d love to share with you. We have put them in a pack with our 2019 Writer’s Block and the 2020 Chockstone Riesling (of which the 2019 vintage received a huge 95 points too! But that one is real...ly, really sold out!) 13.01.2022 One of our customers giving us a good reason to look back on our 2016 Hard Hill Road Durif. "Sunday night, it's cold and wet and the cravings for a big, dark Durif suddenly spring up. Normally, I'd grab an example from Rutherglen alas none were available at the local so trying something new, a Great Western. Colour is incredible. For those with a vampire fetish, this may be your wine if you've had enough Separavi. Heady aromas of dark fruits, dark brooding forests, cue the ...dramatic music. On the palate, it's a wine. A delicious wine. More of that dark berries thing, big tannins that are reigned in well and a great control of alcohol. Barely felt the 14.5% going down. The close-planted vines at our Hard Hill Road Vineyard are nestled along a ridgeline that overlooks the Grampians ranges and surrounded by a eucalypt forest. In the morning, mobs of kangaroos can be seen bounding along the rows, and in the evening, flocks of sulphur-crested cockatoos settle in the redgum trees for the night.
