02.01.2022 Im so grateful for my health today, but it wasnt always like this. . Eating right and exercising are the two most important factors to living a higher quality... of a life with SCI. Let me tell you why. . I used to get UTIs all the time. Some would even hospitalize me for weeks. When youre active, you drink more water which flushes out any bad bacteria. Now, Ive been UTI free for years! . Loosing 40lbs of fat removed 40lbs of pressure from my butt. Exercise gets your blood flowing and delivers nutrients to your skin making it more resilient to damage. Just imagine a life without sores! . I used to need massive doses of powerful drugs to manage my pain. Now, I need little doses of baby drugs to manage. When I push myself in the gym I get sore, the more sore I am the more distracted I am from my pain. Its like a way to trick the brain by distracting it. Im definitely not pain free, but It has drastically reduced. . If you could reduce or eliminate the top three problems a person living with SCI faces, wouldnt you want to do it? . : @realcamblack & @rylphoto @ Atlanta, Georgia See more
