24.01.2022 We're truly lucky in NSW to have some of the best mining deposits in the world. Despite the onset of a worldwide pandemic, the NSW mining industry made a signi...ficant contribution to the NSW economy in the 2019/20 financial year. The results of our annual economic survey show that our 27 mining members directly injected $15 billion into the state's economy last financial year, and as NSW Minerals Council CEO Stephen Galilee writes in this morning's Daily Telegraph, this significant contribution is "supporting tens of thousands of jobs and generating billions in additional spending across NSW, particularly in regional communities." 24.01.2022 We have a strong focus on quality rehabilitation at our sites, and Mangoola Open Cut is a great example. Take a look at the transformation of the mine's North Pit from 2011 to 2020.

23.01.2022 A mine site worker was fitting a pin to a D11 blade pusharm and lost control of the pin, and jammed his finger, resulting in a laceration and fracture to the ti...p of his finger requiring surgery. We were contacted to design tooling that would "remove fingers from the line of fire". Our design has been embraced as it not only provides the required hierarchy of controls removing risk but has also made the overall installation easier and more ergonomic. To improve safety on your site, contact our team today. https://morganengineering.com.au/ #MorganEngineeringNSW #ThinkOutsideTheBox

22.01.2022 "It's quite incredible when you can look at different areas on site and looking across the rehab, you actually don't see any disturbance at all." At Glencore'...s Ulan Coal Operations, north-east of Mudgee, the team have rehabilitated more than 600 hectares of land. This year, 50 hectares has been signed off by the regulator, with more to come in 2021. Great work! #nswmining #minerehab #australianmining

06.01.2022 The Commission will accept written comments on the Maxwell Underground Coal Mine Project up to 5pm AEDT on Wednesday 25th November 2020. The easiest way to do this is via their online portal: www.ipcn.nsw.gov.au/have-your-say Or via https://www.ipcn.nsw.gov.au/have-your-say You don’t need to upload letters, simply write a reason in the Submission box.... Some reasons are: - We need jobs! - The Maxwell Project will generate approximately 250 jobs during construction and 350 jobs during operations. - Malabar has also promised to provide training for local people so the skills to operate an underground mine can be developed within the local area. - The Maxwell Project will boost our economy. It will support local businesses throughout the construction phase and operation of the mine over 26 years. - Long term projects, like this one, will mean NSW businesses can hire more people. - The Maxwell Project is a sensible and common-sense proposal that can co-exist with other industries. Previous open cuts proposals have failed to listen to local people. Malabar has instead developed an underground proposal that will greatly reduce dust and noise related impacts on nearby properties and the horse studs. These changes will make a significant and positive difference to the local community. - The Maxwell Project will allow our community to benefit from the existence of a number of strong local industries. Our region has a long history of industries co-existing and working together to support jobs, services and economic growth. - Malabar takes mine rehabilitation seriously. The Maxwell Project will mean better rehabilitation outcomes by filling voids at the former Drayton Mine with reject stone and rock. - These benefits will make a long-term, positive difference to my community.
