25.01.2022 Meet Emma! She attends the Northern Illawarra Youth PRoject (Youthie) put on by the Thirroul Neighbourhood Centre (TNC). She is one of many people that benefit from this, and other community programs initiated by the TNC. This is what she had to say about her experience. I like Youthie because it’s a place to learn. Sometimes you can teach others for what you know. Whenever people start to bully you, you can report it to any of the Youth Workers and they will do anything and everything they can. When we do murals, that’s the funnest thing we could do! We get to meet different people almost everyday and the Youth Workers are the best because they are nice, helpful, friendly smart and always help you with whatever you need or want. #SaveTNC

14.01.2022 What I love the most about volunteering is the people you get to work with are so friendly and it has given me the experience I need to see how an organisation works in the Community Services industry. Every day is filled with exciting new activities and I get to meet new people in the field who excel in what they do plus I get to learn new and interesting things. Thirroul Neighbourhood Centre has given me the opportunity to become more confident in my role as a volunteer and the staff have been great mentors for me in preparation for finding a job.
