24.01.2022 We don’t do challenges... Why? Because they focus purely on aesthetics, and force you to compare your outward appearance to others... This is neither healthy, nor a long term solution to what you truely want to achieve - to look good, feel good, and to live a long and healthy life Maybe you’ll see some short term changes, and that is awesome But instead, I CHALLENGE YOU to commit to making yourself better EVERY DAY To work on the things you suck at EVERY DAY To put in the hard work - EVERY SINGLE DAY Because it is through THIS pursuit that you will see long term, healthy, safe, and mind-blowing results If you need a little direction, hit us up in the DMs - we’ve got your back
23.01.2022 Coffee isn’t just about the caffeine... Just like life, everything has multiple layers. Coffee is just as much about sharing a few quality moments with a friend (or yourself) as it is about the kick in the pants to really crush your day Go get your day today #atwoodcrew
21.01.2022 Posted @withregram @optimizemenutrition You know how when you do a really hard workout, and you can't shower for 30+ minutes after cause you're still sweating? That's your metabolism "raised." ... You are burning more calories post-workout as your heart continues to beat faster, core temperature stays warmer, and body deals with the metabolic ... uh, distress, of the workout. How many calories burned in this Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC) period varies based on lots of things including intensity and duration of the workout. But this is some of the magic with high-intensity training, you can end up burning more fat (and total calories) when you look at the whole effect of the workout (workout + postworkout), not just what happens during the workout. (Of course, there is a point at which if your high-intensity workout is too short in duration that the longer low-intensity workout burns more.) But, hopefully, this isn't just about caloric burn. It's another example of how body composition and performance goals can be intertwined. To get better at a sport or skill, intensity is necessary. Even for my long-duration athletes. Long duration doesn't mean low-intensity. It means low RELATIVE to what you could do for a shorter period of time. The paces of high-level endurance athletes confirm that quite well. Most are holding mile splits us mortals can't do for one mile. #calories #performance #burn #weightloss #intensity #fitness #epoc #highintensity

05.01.2022 So Nike has finally agreed that motion control elements in shoes may address pronation, but cannot actually reduce injuries through that means! Their stance is to make better shoes, AWESOME! (And I have purchased some of them too ) I’ll continue to do my part, to help people to re-learn to use their body (including their feet/ankles/legs) correctly. ... Addressing the issues of acquired injury and injury prevention MUST be done through tools AND technique. Nike has the $$$ to develop the tools I’ve got the time, knowledge and tenacity to work with people individually to keep them moving and making them stronger, more resilient humans
