If youre at home and dont have a Yoga Strap, try a strip of rag or even a tee-towel to help connect your hand to your foot. Patañjali's Yoga Stra 1:33 reflects on the fact that jealousy, hate and comparison (competition) cause a lot of impurities (distraction) in the mind. 01.01.2022 Recently pulling this card really resonated with me and recent conversations I’ve had with friends and family. Yes there’s always someone worse off than yourself, and whilst we’re all trying to be very grateful for what we do have, we have to at this point acknowledge that it’s been a bloody long slog. When we lose control (see: toilet paper panic buying) particularly now over the longer-term, we lose our power & inner strength and remove the connection to our inner voice, w...ithout which we feel lost, helpless and decidedly un-grateful. Whilst our power centre is associated with the Solar Plexus, the Resilience card in this deck relates to our sense of grounding, which makes sense because our personal power comes from our ability to be able to stand on our own two feet and these two centres are very much inter-related within the Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy systems, the legs considered ‘work organs’ and a physical extension of these themes of centring & grounding. Any healthy use - not overuse - of the legs that includes movement AND relaxation, strengthening AND stretching, tailored to each unique individual will help to connect with these themes and naturally improve our sense of resilience.
