For example, a property purchased at $1M on a 800k mortgage is now worth $800k, then the once 80% LVR becomes a 100% LVR. To maintain a 80% LVR, the borrower needs to come up with $160k difference. As soon as the mortgage gets reset, current valuation may be required, and borrowers may face negative equity. At 1% savings rate, how can borrowers come up with $160k at all?
