11.01.2022 What will happen to you, your money and your assets when you die or if you're incapacitated? Do you have a plan? This is where estate planning comes in. In this episode of my millennial money our own Anna Cruckshank and Angela Brischetto join Glen James to open up this discussion, touching on: what is considered a part of your ""estate"" and what documents cover it... what happens if you die without a will how a will functions - what it covers and doesn't cover what probate is and how it works what power of attorney is and what it covers what does and doesn't cover your small business what an enduring guardianship document is what an advanced care directive document is some of the messy estate situations you want to try and avoid https://youtu.be/da3aUiJWX1w #aubreybrownlawyers #centralcoastnsw #estateplanning

08.01.2022 We are extremely proud of Ben Hughes, who has passed his final law exams. In 2015 we offered a scholarship for a local school student to join our practice when they completed their year 12 studies, work full time with us and study law. We really enjoy mentoring our young employees, and watching them achieve their potential and fulfill their dreams. Ben has worked extremely hard over the past 4 years, and we are really looking forward to Ben completing the final stages ahead so he can be admitted as a lawyer. Congratulations Ben.

08.01.2022 Can we keep things casual? It would seem, following yesterdays decision of the full Federal Court in WorkPac Pty Ltd v Rossato [2020] FCA FC 84, the answer is, maybe not. It is a decision that will have significant implications for both employers and employees. ... The court has said that even though you employ your staff casually, they may not actually be considered as casual. For example, if an employee is working regular and consistent hours over a prolonged period of time, they may, in fact, be considered permanent employees. What does that mean? If an employee is classified as a permanent employee then they become entitled to annual leave, sick leave and other employee benefits that would not ordinarily be available to casual staff. The employee is entitled to this even if they are paid the casual loading. If you wish to get advice on how this could impact on you or your business please contact Sam McKensey on 43503333.
