25.01.2022 TOTAL FIRE BAN HAS BEING DECLARED for Tomorrow 15th Nov 2020 EXTREME fire weather conditions expected in the Mid-North fire district Many other surrounding districts have also been declared a Total Fire Ban day, see CFS website for further details.... If you have not already, you need to develop a Bushfire Action Plan NOW, and discuss the plan with your family. If your plan is to leave, leave early. Check that any recent burns on your property have been completely extinguished, as the high winds tomorrow may see these escalate. Please ensure you use more then one source of information. Sources include: - CFS website www.cfs.sa.gov.au - Bushfire Information Hotline 1800 362 361 - on Facebook, like SA Country Fire Service and CFSUpdates - on Twitter follow @cfstalk and @cfsalerts - Local ABC radio, FIVEaa, or one of our other Emergency Broadcast Partners - ABC News 24 Do not rely on a single source for emergency warning information. For further information consult the CFS Webpage. https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/warnings-and-incidents/

25.01.2022 Tomorrow (10th November 2020) will NOT be a TOTAL FIRE BAN day for the Mid-North fire ban district. However, forecasted conditions will be hot and windy and conducive to bad fire behaviour - Please remain vigilant and report to 000 if you see smokeand/or suspicious behaviour in the area. ... The fuel loads curing around the Mid-North tend to still have some moisture, so our district will be considered VERY HIGH fire danger tomorrow. This is important for property owners to check the site of any recent burnoffs for any remaining heat or embers. Farmers to be mindful of the Grain Harvesting Code of Practice and follow them accordingly. https://safecom-files-v8.s3.amazonaws.com//cfs_grain_harve Stay safe, Stay informed (not on single source information) Stay vigilant

24.01.2022 Fire Danger Ratings are an indicator of how dangerous a bushfire could be if it did occur. It is not a predictor of how likely a bushfire is to occur. Do you know what the different ratings mean?

23.01.2022 It's never too early to leave in a bushfire but sometimes it can be too late. Smoke, traffic, fallen trees or road closures may block your exit route and force you to stay. #bebushfireready #5minbushfireplan

21.01.2022 The Fire Danger Season for Adelaide Metro, Kangaroo Island and Mount Lofty Ranges will start on Tuesday, December 1.

20.01.2022 Fire Danger Season dates announced for 12 of 15 SA districts 29/10/2020 The start and finish dates for the majority of the South Australian Fire Danger District...s have been announced today by the SA Country Fire Service. The Mount Lofty Ranges, Adelaide Metropolitan and Kangaroo Island dates are yet to be confirmed and will be announced soon. Seasons will commence for the Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Flinders, North East Pastoral, North West Pastoral and West Coast this Sunday. CFS Chief Officer Mark Jones said that with recent rainfall many districts will be commencing restrictions on their traditional starting dates. "A milder start to the season than in previous years means we will see the commencement of the Fire Danger Season for many areas at a time that residents were traditionally more used to. "With no need for the starts to be brought in early, as in previous years, there should be no surprises for residents in these districts who have been preparing their properties," Mr Jones said. The Fire Danger Season commencement means restrictions in districts become legally enforceable. "Now is the perfect time to prepare for the oncoming season and update your Bushfire Survival Plan," Mr Jones said. A list of 'What can I do/What can't I do?' during the Fire Danger Season, and information on how to create a Bushfire Survival Plan, is available at cfs.sa.gov.au The confirmed seasons dates are as follows: Adelaide Metropolitan: To be announced Eastern Eyre Peninsula: 01 November 2020 until 15 April 2021 Flinders: 01 November 2020 until 15 April 2021 Kangaroo Island: To be announced Lower Eyre Peninsula: 15 November 2020 until 15 April 2021 Lower South East: 01 December until 30 April 2021 Mid North: 15 November 2020 until 30 April 2021 Mount Lofty Ranges: To be announced Murraylands: 15 November 2020 until 15 April 2021 North East Pastoral: 01 November 2020 until 31 March 2021 North West Pastoral: 01 November 2020 until 31 March 2021 Riverland: 15 November 2020 until 15 April 2021 Upper South East: 15 November 2020 until 15 April 2021 West Coast: 01 November 2020 until 15 April 2021 Yorke Peninsula: 15 November 2020 until 30 April 2021.

07.01.2022 This Fire Danger Season the Country Fire Service will begin using a new camera on their aircraft that will allow the operator to see through smoke haze and iden...tify exactly where the fire front, buildings and crews are. The system was trialled intermittently last season, with vision seen in this short clip from when the camera was used during the Cudlee Creek bushfire. The Tactical Airborne Intelligence Gathering (TAIG) camera will be used on our largest and fastest helicopter this year, meaning it will be tasked to areas across all of the the state during days of high fire danger risk. The first of the Fire Danger Season dates will be announced this Thursday.

05.01.2022 THURSDAY 14 JANUARY - Bushfire Read meeting - this meeting could save your life!

05.01.2022 This weekend's weather might make the Fire Danger Season seem like lifetime away, but it won’t take long for the environment to dry out once we hit some hot wea...ther. Rather than making your home preparedness a stressful task, start taking steps now to clean up ahead of Summer. A well prepared home: - can be easier for you or firefighters to defend - is more likely to survive, even if you're not there - is less likely to put your neighbours' homes at risk - will give you more protection if a fire threatens suddenly and you cannot leave and have to take shelter For more information visit: www.cfs.sa.gov.au//prep/prepare_your_home_and_property.jsp
