15.01.2022 We have decided that we need to get ALL the people who know WCS (especially our new starters) together for a social. In the days of COVID we need to know how many are interested so we can book the appropriate sized hall to cater for 4 sq.m per person general rule. Music in the range of 90 120 bpm. Modern Jive dancers welcome. We have halls that can cope with 27 to 60 persons. WHEN: Black Friday 13th November 2020 reserve date of 20/11/20 as well TIME: 7:30pm 10pm... WHERE: TBC (once survey - see link below - closes) COST: $10 or $20 with champers/wine/beer. 09.01.2022 Dance Party/Social - Friday 13th Nov Yes we are approaching Friday the 13th. So, watch out for those black cats and for ladders propped up against buildings. We need no accidents to prevent you putting on your dance shoes. Hope to see as many of you as possible this coming Friday. The dance party location: Folk Dance Canberra Hall, Hackett. 114 Maitland St, Hackett ACT 2602. (A wonderful floor, twice the size of the BAC and plenty of room for everyone.)... Parking: there is a layby at the front of the building, you can park on Maitland Street, and overflow parking out the back. Time: Mark will be setting up from 7pm and the dance will start at 7:30pm. Arrive a little before for a chat, to register any song choices. Cost: $10 with a light supper. (Nibblies, water.) Cash is ok on this occasion. Like a bevo or two - $20 entry gets you a glass or two of champers, red or white wine or a beer. Choice will be limited of course. Supporting charity through dance: $5 from every entry will go to the UNHCR, our sponsored charity. A couple of people have offered to bring a plate. That is really helpful and neighbourly. Thanks. Who is welcome? Everyone of course. You should primarily know a little West Coast Swing but we will help any of your friends you bring along. Can I still attend or bring a friend? It would be useful though if you text Mark with your name if you have not already registered via the survey. I am over the way FB is being manipulated and allows all sorts of conspiracy theories, support of vigilante groups etc. in the US, does little to control the likes of Donald Trrump.
