24.01.2022 Some great information here

20.01.2022 ATTENTION DOG BREEDERS & COMMUNITY - Criminals involved in organised crime are preying on breeders (especially dog breeders). The most recent incident occ...urred on 10/11/20 in TARNEIT (VIC) when this 8 week old, male German Shepherd puppy was obtained via fraud and deception. The buyers a.k.a criminals used a stolen cheque, deposited it at SMART ATM and then turned up & collected the puppy. The breeder saw the payment in their account and didn’t know that depositing a cheque at a Smart ATM actually tricks you into thinking the cash is cleared and available when it is not. The thieves are described as one male & one female in their 20s. The female is described as Caucasian with a large tattoo on her back. The male is described as African & obese. They were driving a small, white car. Police are involved. If you have ANY INFO on the whereabouts of Zorro the pup 0406 834 001 ASAP. Anonymous contact with information welcome. See more

14.01.2022 UPDATE - LINUS GOT ADOPTED! Did you know that all of our dogs, like Linus, live in Foster Homes? Instead of sitting in a cement cell waiting to be noticed, t...hey live in homes, just like yours. While they are there, they learn how to live as part of a family - they go on school runs, to cafes, beaches and even to Grandma’s for spoiling. Linus was adopted today but we are always looking for more Carers as the flow of dogs needing homes is never ending. If you would like to find out more about fostering dogs like Linus, go to https://ppar.com.au/foster/ or send us a message with your questions.

13.01.2022 November is Senior Pet Month - a month dedicated to celebrating the senior pets in our lives. Seniors make the perfect family pet, and not only are there eno...rmous benefits to bringing home a senior dog, but you can also feel great about giving them a forever home in their golden years. They also make an ideal couch companion! As with humans, our pets often slow down both physically and mentally as they get older. Caring for an aging companion animal requires different considerations when compared with the days when they were once young and active. There are several different things you can do to help your companion animal continue to be as comfortable and healthy as possible as they age Download AWLQ's Guide to Caring for Senior Pets here - https://www.awlqld.com.au/media-articles/

05.01.2022 PLEASE LEAVE THEM IN THE SHOPS It's that time of year again The vast majority of these rawhide products and treats come from China.... Their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a toxic sodium sulphide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which are then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white "pure" look and remove the rancid smell. Now come the pretty festive colours and the glue to form cute shapes. They regularly cause intestinal blockages and choking. The chews go slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog. Please be safe with your dogs!
