25.01.2022 Aurora Australis enjoying a social gathering! Lovely to catch up with all the lovely ladies

24.01.2022 Some good thoughts about the science of singing - we’ve known that for years! #singingkeepsyousane

24.01.2022 This year, Anzac Day will be very different for so many of us. Dawn services will be happening from our own homes, in our driveways and at our gates, listening ...for notes of neighbourhood buglers or pipers playing laments and, of course, The Last Post. Or we will tune in via TV or stream a prepared coverage on our devices ... no on-site events for any chorus or quartet performances this year ... but, being Sweet Adelines, many of our choruses and quartets will have recordings of Anzac Day performances gone by to share with us. As we take the opportunity to be still with our own thoughts, this year's Anzac Day, share our music and may it be the most poignant, the most meaningful ever. For all that it means to you and your family and our country, we will remember them. #SweetAdelinesStrong #SweetAdelinesAustralia See more

24.01.2022 This us - gorgeous in isolation (and in perfect four-part harmony!)

24.01.2022 Aurora's online rehearsal tonight had an ANZAC Day theme as we paid tribute to those who served. It was lovely to see our members sharing family photos and medals. We had lots of poppies and rosemary too. #lestweforget.

24.01.2022 Aurora Australis is so proud to have been a part of this fantastic project - the brainchild of our amazing Sweet Adelines Australia superwoman, Kate Hawkins!

23.01.2022 Looking forward to ‘performing’ in our Region 34 UnConvention!

22.01.2022 That's what we're doing at Aurora at the moment! We're enjoying our Zoom meetings as a time to learn, to move, to sing (unfortunately not together ) and to socialise and our technology skills are being honed as well.

22.01.2022 Congratulations to these very talented Region 34 women! We look forward to learning your new arrangements!

06.01.2022 75 years ago, on July 13, 1945, Edna Mae Anderson of Tulsa, Oklahoma invited some women to her home to sing ... and so Sweet Adelines began. During these iso-ti...mes of COVID-19 so many of us have recaptured that spirit of singing in our homes, with friends who remain mindfully distanced or via Zoom or other technology, so that our music can continue during these unprecedented times. As we mark the 75th birthday of Sweet Adelines, the organisation, we salute everyone who came for the music and stayed for the friendships. After all this time, we think Edna Mae would be feeling very proud of this little 'hobby' she created for us! Sing loud and proud today, and remember, we are 'Sweet Adelines Strong!'. #SweetAds75 #WeareSweetAdelines #SweetAdelinesStrong #SweetAdsAust

06.01.2022 This Thursday, Aurora is having our first face-to-face rehearsal since March and to say we're a bit excited is something of an understatement!

06.01.2022 We're back! Aurora Australis gals met in person (plus two on Zoom) for the first time last week. Woo hoo! Signed in, sanitised and separated - all good. #SweetAdelinesStrong

04.01.2022 Not long now! We're really looking forward to singing together in a couple of weeks (fingers crossed!)

04.01.2022 Aurora unfortunately missed out on our REF visit with Kali Caramia in March, but it was lovely to catch up with her tonight! (We actually had 25 attendees for our Zoom rehearsal but didn't remember to take the photo till later. D'oh!)

01.01.2022 Wishing you a happy Christmas and a healthy 2021! We can't wait to sing together again.
