25.01.2022 On Saturday the 28th of November, members of the Australian Communist Party, along with hundreds of others, came out again in support to the second of Community Action for Rainbow Rights' (CARR) rallies against Mark Latham's transphobic and homophobic Religious Freedom's Bill and Education Legislation Amendment Bill. These atrocious bills would ban any content mentioning trans and gender diverse people in class, prohibiting school staff from giving advice about gender and sex...uality, banning the use of students' prefered pronouns, legitimising the stigmatisation of intersex people, firing teachers or counsellors that give students advice on these issues among other repressive acts that would force LGBTQI people back into the closet. At the previous rally held on the 10th of October, police came down hard, refusing to authorise the protest and fining 13 people $1000 for attending, arresting one protester and breaking another's wrist after protestors pushed through. This time there was a far smaller and lighter police presence and all of the planned speeches were able to be given and the march from Taylor Square to Hyde Park occurred with relatively minor repression. Near the end of the march protesters crossed paths with a group of about five Trump flag wavers in Hyde Park, guarded by a line of riot police who violently pushed marchers onto the floor for getting too close. It is disgusting that these reactionaries get protection from their sympathetic goons in the police whereas trans and other gender diverse people who are constantly and maliciously attacked by all aspects of society. The ACP stands firmly against these ghouls in parliament and the media and their lackeys in the police and stand adamantly with trans and queer people.

24.01.2022 Sugar is addictive and the food industry knows it. Thats why you will find it in 70% of foods at your local supermarket. This is a problem that many working class people from all over the world deal with, but one that often goes unseen. The American Psychiatric Association defines an addictive substance as one that has three of seven qualifying criteria. Two of these are physiological: tolerance and withdrawal; while the other five are psychological. The first two, the physiological effects, are especially important factors in determining addiction, and sugar fulfills both of these. https://www.auscp.org.au///sugar-the-food-industry-and-you

24.01.2022 The Australian Communist party is pleased to announce a series of illustrated presentations tracing the fascinating and inspiring history of the Communist movement in Australia. This decade-by-decade examination is a contribution by the ACP to the commemoration of the centenary the founding of the original Communist Party in Australia on the 30th of October 1920. The sessions will set the development of the original Communist Party in its Australian and international context ...and highlight the bold actions that earned the movement its prominent place in the history of the country. They will delve into the reasons for the highs and lows of that history and the need to revive the movement in the interests of the working class currently under intensified ruling class assault. 17.01.2022 The ‘Brereton Report’, officially known as the Inspector General of the Australian Defence Force Afghanistan (IGADF) Inquiry Report has brought to light the shameful acts of members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) in the persecution of the War on Terrorism’ in Afghanistan. I myself spent 6 years in the ADF. I was a Rifleman, 343-3. I attained the rank of Private (Proficient), and was deployed on a Non-Warlike deployment. 17.01.2022 On July 30th, the Courier Mail newspaper ran an article on a breach of border movement policy during COVID-19 restrictions. The front-page story was entitled Enemies of the State and told the story of three Melbourne teens who went to Brisbane in order to sell stolen goods. What made it remarkable was the fact that it named the three perpetrators and provided photos of them. A masthead with huge circulation, it exposed the girls to an outpouring of racial hatred online. Before this story, a couple in Aspen had broken quarantine, there had been a party in Noosa with fifty-plus attendees and security guards breaching social distancing at Melbourne hotels. None of these perpetrators received the same treatment as the girls in question. https://www.auscp.org.au//the-logic-of-australias-commerci

11.01.2022 "Urgent call for water relief! - The Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community currently has no access to fresh tap water. - The water ways in the local area, including the catchment zone, bore water and Lake Windermere which feeds the towns water supply, have been contaminated with PFAS. - You can help by donating funds to purchase water, or donating pre-purchased fresh water.... I am calling for donations for the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community as they currently have no access to uncontaminated mainstream water. Donations will be used to purchase bottled water which will be distributed to the Wreck Bay Community. WHAT IS PFAS: Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are chemicals that have previously been used in firefighting, as well as having other industrial uses. PFAS can spread through dust particles and waterways and remain in the local ecosystem for years until it finally breaks down. When ingested or absorbed through the skin, PFAS can remain in your body for up to 7 years. It has a wide range of side effects such as cancer, developmental issues and birth defects, liver damage, thyroid disease, sterility, and hormone suppression. It can aggravate pre-existing conditions such as eczema and asthma and rashes and skin conditions can develop just from showering in contaminated water a few times each week. Water cannot be treated through boiling, and most standard home water filters will have little to no effect on PFAS levels. BACKGROUND: The local Navy Base has allowed PFAS pollution to seep into the local waterways. This includes the water table, Lake Windermere (the towns water supply), local creeks and rivers, and both Wreck Bay and Jervis Bay. Not only is the towns tap water and bore water now contaminated, but because of the spreading contamination the local community has also suffered a devastating cultural lose in the form of access to traditional sources of food, with the local seafood, wildlife, and vegetation containing levels of PFAS well above the recommended consumption levels. HOW YOU CAN HELP: You can help by; - donating to the Wreck Bay water fundraiser, either through the Facebook app or bank transfer but please remember to write WRECK in the reference if you transfer BSB 085-333 ACC 41-317-2257 - donating pre-purchased bottled water to be distributed to the Wreck Bay Community - sharing this with your connections, on social media, or by word of mouth - getting in touch if you want to help out in other ways Thank you!" https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=974315203040849&id=100000036255886

11.01.2022 Yesterday comrades from the ACP delivered their first water run to the Aboriginal community of Wreck Bay, who no longer have access to clean drinking water. This comes after the local Navy base allowed PFAS pollution to seep into the local waterways, contaminating the water table, Lake Windermere (the town's water supply), local creeks, rivers, and both Wreck Bay and Jervis Bay. Not only is the town's tap water and bore water now contaminated, but because of the spreading pol...lution the local community has also suffered a devastating cultural loss in the form of access to traditional sources of food, with the local seafood, wildlife, and vegetation containing levels of PFAS well above recommended consumption levels. PFAS was typically used in firefighting foam, but it also has a variety of industrial uses due to it's heat resistant properties. It can spread through dust particles and waterways and can remain in the local ecosystem for years until it finally breaks down. When ingested or absorbed through the skin, PFAS can remain in the body for up to 7 years. It has a wide range of side effects such as cancer, developmental issues and birth defects, liver damage, thyroid disease, sterility, and hormone suppression. It can aggravate pre-existing conditions such as eczema and asthma, and rashes and skin conditions can develop just from showering in contaminated water a few times each week. Water cannot be treated through boiling, and most standard home water filters will have little to no effect on PFAS levels. Luckily with help from the broader community we have been able to raise enough funds to start conducting these much needed water runs. If you would like to donate and help finance these water runs you can do so via the following link: https://www.facebook.com/donate/974293553043014/371416497581033/ See more

09.01.2022 Much alike the situation in Australia of bizarre "anti-mask" protestors and their wilful co-option and furthering of right wing talking points, Ireland is facing the same issue. 08.01.2022 It seems absurd that we in 2020 can, without a hint of irony, say white teen militias are shooting protesters dead in the street but the events in Kenosha have, and not for the first time this year, broadcast the harrowing truth of the world we live in. Last Sunday, the 23rd of August, a 17 year old white man, Kyle Rittenhouse, took the lives of two protesters and injured another. The debate that has arisen, has centred on the question of Rittenhouses responsibility and specifically on whether or not he was acting in self-defence. 07.01.2022 On Saturday the 19th comrades from the ACP attended a Black Lives Matter car convoy outside Long Bay Jail to protest against deaths in custody. This follows the recent death of a 49 year old Indigenous woman who died in custody on the 10th of September. Her death marks the 441st Indigenous death in custody since the 1991 royal commission into the issue. The significance of the location around which the car convoy circulated was not lost on attendees; in 2015 an Indigenous man..., by the name of David Dungay, died in Long Bay Jail. He was suffocated to death by 5 prison guards after they rushed his cell and piled on top of him, simply because he was eating a packet of biscuits. In January of this year prisoners at Long Bay Jail had tear gas deployed against them after they rioted and used materials to spell out the letters "BLM" (for Black Lives Matter) in the prison's exercise yard. Such a large volume of tear gas was deployed that surrounding residents even suffered from exposure, with many reporting that their faces, throats and eyes were burning. See more

05.01.2022 American imperialism has made its way across the world, with nations being impoverished, governments being overthrown, and people being killed for the sake of power and Capital. American imperialism has also made its way to Australia, with the construction of a large U.S. military base called Pine Gap in the 1960s. Since its creation the base has allowed the U.S. to tighten its grip around the world and the working class. While many people are in fear of the Peoples Republi...c of China and their influence on Australia, the United States has already been dominating Australia for the past century, with military bases such as Pine Gap being constructed across the country and with Australians being forced to fight alongside the U.S. in every major conflict including their many imperialistic endeavours. https://www.facebook.com/109512650866480/posts/117385920079153/

03.01.2022 Uni protester faces jail under COVID rules in major attack on right to protest Police yesterday arrested and charged activist Adam Adelpour under COVID-19 regulations for attending a protest at Sydney University against government and management cuts to jobs and funding. He was released this morning (Thursday 17 September) from Newtown police station after earlier refusing outrageous police bail conditions that included a personal curfew. He will appear in Newtown local court... on 8 October. Adam is facing the threat of six months in jail or an $11,000 fine under the Public Health Act 2010, in the first time anyone has faced charges under COVID rules for attending a protest in NSW. Nine other protesters were also issued $1000 fines. Police earlier attempted to impose a curfew on Adam and to ban him from the University of Sydney campus as conditions of bail. Adam refused to accept the conditions and was held overnight at Newtown police station after yesterday's protest. Police dropped the conditions when he was finally released at around 7am this morning. "The police's decision to lay charges under COVID rules is a major escalation of the attack on the right to protest in NSW", said Adam Adelpour. "The protest actions at Sydney University yesterday did not even breach COVID restrictions on gatherings, as protesters gathered in groups of less than 20 people, widely dispersed across campus. "But police have made it clear they are determined to prevent demonstrations of any kind. This is an appalling attack on free speech and the right to demonstrate," Adam said. Police have claimed the protest actions at Sydney University were 'unauthorised' but this simply shows their contempt for the law and the right to protest. Demonstrations in NSW are not required to be 'authorised' under the Crimes Act provisions unless participants want to march on the road and require protection from traffic infringement laws. "Universities are making thousands of job cuts using the excuse of the COVID-19 crisis and Prime Minister Scott Morrison's failure to support the sector. Sydney University has floated plans for 30 per cent jobs cuts, which would have an appalling impact on the quality of our education. "Protesting the crisis being imposed on universities is essential if we are to prevent these dramatic and damaging cuts. Yet NSW police have imposed a draconian and hypocritical ban on our protests." The police action against protests of 20 people came on the same day that NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian foreshadowed plans to double the number of people allowed in sports stadiums to up to 40,000 each.
