18.01.2022 Wildlife carers say hundreds of spectacled flying foxes have dropped dead from trees around Cairns due to heat stress today. Theyve set up a pop-up bat hospi...tal at the Cairns Library to look after surviving flying foxes. People are reminded not to touch injured or heat stressed bats. Please contact FNQ Wildlife Rescue on 4053 4467 if you need assistance or wish to help out.

15.01.2022 A local wildlife carer has rescued dozens of tiny bats from the state's Far North. As adorable as they look, baby bats can carry disease. If you see one injured..., the advice is not to touch them but to call a wildlife rescue service. www.7plus.com.au/news #7News

11.01.2022 Spring has definitely arrived in South East Qld which signals the arrival of baby Grey Headed And Black Flying Foxes. As much as we all adore the babies, these guys coming into care is always bittersweet as it most often is the result of the beautiful mother Bat passing away, usually from injury. Each year we all hope that the amount of orphans coming into care is less than the year before and this year more than ever we all have our fingers crossed for a quiet season with all of our babies being safe and raised by their incredible mothers. 09.01.2022 The Worlds Cutest Bat :D Photo by Dean Morgan Photography

08.01.2022 A big hello to everyone and a big apology for us being so quiet on social media in the last months. We truly appreciate the support of you all and as you already know, weve always had a very large amount of animals in need of rescue and care to be ready for re-release. This coupled with colony monitoring, education engagements and local council consultation work can make it difficult for us to spend as much time as we would like interacting with you all. We will be bringing ...you as much as we can, particularly with our orphan season about to commence here in Australia. We do want to update you all on a couple of things. Firstly, a very special award has recently been presented to our #1 Bat Mum Trish Wimberley receiving a Jewelled award from the fantastic Gecko Environment Council on the Gold Coast for her work with our beautiful wildlife. We are all very proud of her here and she has been working hard for so many years its great to see her recognised and we are all so proud of her. This brings us to some changes Trish has been making at the clinic and her (exciting) plans to change direction a little. Plans are still being finalised so we cant say too much yet but we do want our amazing supporters to be assured that our mission to care for and protect our native wildlife (especially our bats of course!) remains the same. So while these changes are happening, our beautiful Bat kids are having a holiday with an amazing (licensed) carer and friend of the Australian Bat Clinic whose own little Bat kids are making fast friends with them. Here are a few photos of our Talngai & Jackie Sparrow enjoying their new friends, something these amazing creatures do naturally. We so look forward to keeping you up to date with what were up to and of course everyone seeing how important wildlife care and conservation is for our Earth. See more

08.01.2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAL'NGAI Halloween is unofficially our Tal'ngai's Birthday...can you believe he is now two years old!! These are his first birthday celebrations from his personal family photo album. We will share more updates soon...... Photos and cake by Leanne See more

08.01.2022 Who wouldn't want to be a bat carer?

07.01.2022 Thanks again to all who have donated, shared and supported us - we can't wait to see who wins this amazing photographic art print of Tal'ngai Dha'run donated by our friends at Zoo Studio - Animal Art Photography! We are still hoping that we can raise some more help for our 50 orphans going into the 'creche' this weekend to prepare for release. Any help is appreciated but don't forget all donations of $10 or more buys you a chance to win!

07.01.2022 Eddison the orphan was the little star with Batman Sten this weekend for a Scout Group education talk at Ferny Hills. As you can imagine they were both a great hit with the kids, and the Clinic also received a donation and donated towels and blankets for the animals. Thank you to all that helped out.

07.01.2022 Awesome photo's

03.01.2022 Thank you all for your patience during this period of transition for the Australian Bat Clinic. Whilst we are changing how we operate, we do still have some precious Flying Fox Orphans in care who need your help to be ready to fly free! The orphans are ready to enter 'creche' which is when our carers say goodbye and the babies become de-humanised but still require lots of food and care. To help us out with our costs, our friends at Zoo Studio Animal Art Photography have donat...ed one of their award winning photographs of our gorgeous Tal'ngai for a lucky donor during the next 4 weeks! ALL donations over $10AUD will have the opportunity to own one of these amazing prints valued at $495! You can donate more than once and each time will be another opportunity to win! The winner will be drawn by random name generator on Monday 18th February AEDT and the print will be shipped that week at no cost to the winner. Thank you all again - we couldn't do this without you!
