11.01.2022 NSW Emergency Drought Relief Package for Farmers Help for NSW farmers enduring drought The NSW Government Emergency Drought Relief Package has been announced to... help NSW farmers manage the effects of the latest drought. Funding has been allocated for 3 elements: Drought Transport Subsidies Waiving farming fees and charges Farm Innovation Fund (FIF) infrastructure program. The emergency relief also includes financial assistance for: Animal welfare and stock disposal. Counseling and mental health for affected farmers/family Critical services in regional areas including moving water by transport road upgrades and repairs directly related to the drought For any further information and application forms please visit the Emergency Drought Relief Package Website Farmers can also apply to other assistance programs currently available to assist them through the drought including: Drought Transport Subsidy Programs Farmers in drought afflicted areas will be able to obtain transport subsidies with the ability to backdate them from January 2018 under the NSW government’s emergency package for drought relief. As part of the NSW farmers emergency funding program farmers will also be eligible for waivers on Local Land Services annual rates, Fixed charges on water licence/s Class 1 agricultural vehicles registration From interest on existing Farm Innovation Fund loans.
