17.01.2022 Legalising Euthenaisa will be a disaster for the poor, the marginalised, the old, the weak and the vulnerable. This is an important article that examines the ov...erseas experience in the five countries that have legalised it, in summary it shows in countries like Belgium 13 percent of people who are put to death through Euthenasia have no terminal illness, that it has been extended to children who can choose to die or have that choice made by their parents, that the suicide rate (excluding Euthenasia) rises in every country where it's introduced, Belgium (who introduced it in 2002) has the second highest rate of suicide in Europe (excluding Euthenaisa). As a society people become less compassionate towards the ill and infirm not more, human life becomes less valued, paitients are put to death without their consent, especially those suffering menatal illness, alzheimers and dementia. It's a terrible mistake. It's time to speak out against the Victorian Governments proposals, not just on moral grounds, but on pracitcial grounds and if your a follower of Jesus then speak up on faith based grounds as well (start with Deuteronomy 5:17). We can't allow our society to make this hidious step. The article posted below is a rational secular argument against it. There are many more you can use, lobby you local members, write letters to parliament, you can be assured those who want to impose this are doing it daily! See more
