25.01.2022 Here's a fab and simple citizen science event to get involved with! This Sunday, 21 June is the darkest day of the year and the Australasian Dark Sky Alliance is hosting a Guinness World Record attempt to raise awareness about light pollution the fastest growing pollutant in the world. The Official Attempt aims to have more than 10,000 people worldwide go outside and look at the stars and take the LARGEST ONLINE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY LESSON IN 24 HOURS. Anyone ar...ound the world can sign up and be a part of this citizen science event. The event opens at 11am AWST this Sunday 21 June and closes 11am 22 June. There are four things you need to do to be a part of this #WorldRecordLight great challenge. *Sign up - the earlier you do this the better. Weekly they're giving prizes away and tips for the event to registrants.... *Sign in - 21 June, 3pm NZST. *Watch some videos, answer all 5 questions, and do a night sky observation (it’s important to still take part even if it’s cloudy or raining). *Finish all parts of the lesson within 24 hours.
