25.01.2022 To our racing family We, like all of you, are devastated that the 2020 NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s will not happen this year. ...The Knoxville Nationals ARE Knoxville Raceway. This is the event that we plan for, anticipate and look forward to all year long. Not having the event, quite frankly, seems surreal. From the onset of the COVID pandemic, we thought if ANY race happens this year, surely it will be the Nationals. Quickly, reality hit us and we knew we were in for an uphill battle. Plan B turned into Plan C and somehow got to Plan M (we lost count at some point). We’ve worked hard to keep this event alive not for us but for the fans, for the drivers, the team members, the sponsors and this town. We take pride in hosting the Knoxville Nationals every year. In bringing people together and providing a backdrop for lifelong memories. Up until late last week, we had hope. We presented our final plan to state officials that would at least allow the nearly 12,000 race fans who had already purchased tickets to attend. The plan was not approved. We remain limited to 7,000 spectators at our facility, down from our normal capacity of 20,322. Knowing this, to move forward with the race would mean telling nearly 5,000 fans who had purchased tickets Thank you, but you cannot attend now. It would mean telling the 7,000 who could still attend, Due to social distancing, we have to move your seats and re-ticket you. It would mean telling the more than 8,000 fans who are accustomed to purchasing their tickets at the ticket office, We apologize, but you cannot attend this year. In essence, we would be, in some way, disappointing every one. Our fans are important to us. The show does not go on without you. So without you, the show will not go on. The pain is somewhat eased, we hope, for the drivers and teams and fans, that with the partnership of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series, there will be racing at the Sprint Car Capital of the World that week. The event will be limited to 7,000 spectators. No off-track events, such as the parade, Winged Nation shows, autograph sessions, concerts, turns 3&4 parties, will happen. Like the Nationals, we will have to look forward to all of those in 2021. But, we will have racing. We will see this country’s greatest sprint car drivers battle for the Capitani Classic title and trophy. To the community of Knoxville, we know this hurts you, too. You all open your homes and your businesses to the racing family each August. We know that you look forward to seeing familiar faces and feeling the energy buzzing through town. You are an equal part of what makes the Knoxville Nationals the most amazing sprint car event in the world. We also know there was concern in the community about the safety and health of its citizens. Your concerns were heard and understood. We want the Knoxville Nationals to happen when everyone feels comfortable to enjoy them. It is our intention to make the 60th running of the NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s in 2021 the biggest event yet. We will be ready to welcome more than 23,000 fans from around the world to our race track and make the wait worthwhile. Until then, thank you all for your support this season and throughout this process. Sincerely, The Marion County Fair Board and Knoxville Raceway

25.01.2022 After further consultation with Queensland Health, we regret to advise that we will NOT be proceeding with the event scheduled for this Saturday night (March 21...). We believe there will be further advices issued by Queensland Government in the coming days which would impact on our ability to proceed with the event and we wanted to provide notification to competitors and fans as early as possible to minimise any inconvenience. Whilst much uncertainty remains with regard to conducting race meetings, we will look at the possibility of running some practice nights. Rest assured that as soon as we have the authority to do so, we will resume our scheduled season of events, so stay tuned to Facebook and the Archerfield Speedway website for further updates. We thank everybody who has supported us through this time of uncertainty and we will commence normal operations as soon as possible. We urge you all to stay safe during this challenging period and look forward to being able to return to some sort of normality soon.

10.01.2022 Unfortunately the team will not be competing this weekend at Murray Bridge for the USC round. On the final night of the Australian Title, Andrew was racing and only 3 laps in, Murcott unfortunately had a major part failure which resulted in him losing his steering and contact was made with Andrew. Andrew then flipped multiple times and that has completely destroyed the race car. It was a very heavy hit and massively disappointing for the team. Andrew and the Team have heade...d back to Queensland to regroup and take some time to recover from the accident as the flip has left Andrew extremely sore and bruised. Thanks to everyone for your kind messages of support. We will see you in a few weeks back in Queensland.

10.01.2022 PLEASE SEE LATEST POST - ALL EVENTS SUSPENDED UNTIL GOVERNMENT BAN ON MASS GATHERINGS IS LIFTED. After discussions with representatives in the Queensland Health... Department, Health Direct, Brisbane City Council and local Police, the Management of Ausdeck Patios Archerfield Speedway have confirmed that the race meeting scheduled for Saturday, March 21 will proceed, albeit with a modified race program to ensure compliance with the recent announcements from the Australian Government with regard to a ban ‘non-essential mass gatherings’ aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the community. As such, please be advised that Sprintcars and Late Models have been removed from the program. The event will feature round seven of the Done Right Touch Ups Formula 500 Series, plus Compact Speedcars, Modlites, Microsprints and Formula 500 Juniors. In outlining the details of the ban, Prime Minister Scott Morrison was quick to differentiate between ‘static’ gatherings, such as those held in concert halls and other enclosed spaces, and outdoor events such as markets, declaring that a static gathering is when sitting in an enclosed space ‘for prolonged periods.’ Fortunately, Archerfield Speedway is an outdoor venue with a variety of seating options, all of which enable spectators to enjoy the events whilst maintaining a safe distance from other patrons. Speedway patrons are not contained within an ‘enclosed space’, are free to move around within the various seating areas and are welcome to bring their own food, drink, chairs and other comforts to limit interaction with staff, vendors and other race fans. Therefore, the race meeting will proceed (subject to any further Government restrictions) on March 21 with the following protocols in place: Attendance will be restricted to 500 people in the spectator areas and 500 people in the pit area. As such, patrons purchasing a general admission ticket will not be able to purchase a pit ticket upgrade during the night. General admission tickets and pit entry tickets will be sold from separate ticket boxes and there will no movement between the pits and spectator areas during the race meeting. By restricting spectator numbers to 500, the event meets the guidelines set out by the Government AND ensures that spectators can avoid being in close proximity to other patrons. Hand sanitiser will be available at the entry gates and the rest rooms. Everybody attending the event will be required to sign an additional waiver before entering the grounds. We ask everyone to follow all recommended health advice and use common sense by washing hands regularly and avoiding close contact with others. If you, or anybody you know, is feeling unwell or has recently returned from overseas, we strongly urge you to seek treatment and forego attending this, or any, event until you have been cleared by a medical practitioner. Archerfield Speedway advises that this notification only pertains to the race meeting scheduled for Saturday, March 21 and any decision/s relating to subsequent events will be made in due course.

08.01.2022 Here is an article we featured in from our USA tour last year. As each day passes, the meaning of the tour grows in importance and the experiences are missed ev...en more. Although our photo's didnt make the cut we were still sent them. A massive thank you to Larry Weeks for following us at Nationals and to Dirt Monthly magazine for the publication of our story. Thank you to Larry Weeks for the photos he took! A picture tells a thousand stories. So many people made this tour happen and he happened to be on the spot when we finished our last race of the tour and although its only 1 hug, it illustrates my feelings for all of those who were a part of the tour!
