20.01.2022 Really hard Times ahead with drought & fire recovery, all your prayers appreciated.

20.01.2022 This vid has lots of compost examples examples for the small scale Farmer!

18.01.2022 Just posted a few images of projects that have survived the drought. Bad photography with cheap phone.

16.01.2022 Tried our black fermented garlic Yet! Small amounts of stock available as it takes over 230hrs to produce. Place your order now.

11.01.2022 Cow peas are usually grown as a green manure crop here at the Farmacy. They are turned into the soil using a tiller in this photo, sometimes they are mulched after mowing down. But they are also edible, this year the fresh leaves tasted like fresh spinach, while these young pods tasted just like biting into a fresh bean. We are having those pods steamed with tonight's dinner, vegan of course!

11.01.2022 Filming a honey bee in the green manure strip of cowpeas, just showed a microcosim of activity. Then the black bee arrived what a bonus. It may take a few views to see all the bugs but the insect activity around the farm is amazing at the moment. Maybe thats why the frogs are hiding in the patch too. (Not in this film)

09.01.2022 Cowpeas what a joy to watch the insects feasting while the green manure grows. The leaves have been tasty while the immature pods have been delicious!

08.01.2022 Reminder worth revisiting Stephen McNamara

08.01.2022 We are having a light year of farming this year as we both had to find off farm income to get us through the drought. We have had 3mm of rain since May. Also in May 2018 we had 300mm this year we got 30mm. The weeds & small forest trees are dying, the ground is a dust bowl. The small amount of water we use in our gardens attracts wildlife that are struggling to find nourishment in the surrounding Bush. Life as a farmer is very challenging & a growth in character. Dried herbs are still doing well. Check out our Farmers Direct Shop.

07.01.2022 While 2018 and 2019 have been challenging years due to the ongoing drought, the natives have continued to eat most of our plantings. But as today's picture now shows the damage from the disastrous bushfires the natives from last months photo have now moved in and unfortunately very little produce will now be produced. Our hearts and thoughts go out to all those who have lost everything and all those who assisted in fire control and emergency assistance. Bless you all.

07.01.2022 now this looks sustainable for the farm and the planet's future

06.01.2022 Well amazing what a bit of rain will do to your spirits & the gardens. Full steam ahead now we have had 300mm of rain.

03.01.2022 This is how we package your black garlic, keeping it fresh & low cost postage.

03.01.2022 Isolation farmer style, nothing unusual in this practice, just another farming day in 2020

01.01.2022 It's been so dry here for a while now with very little flowers on the living trees. We compost pasteurised organic coffee grounds among many other inputs to the compost. Native Bees and European bees keep coming to eat and fly away with brown balls attached when some leave. Nature is truly amazing!
