25.01.2022 "At AGC you make so many friends immediately, because without having to search for them you already share the same passions. At AGC everyone is there because they love music, so you feel a genuine connection with all of the girls and your friendships just grow and grow. Performing together also really strengthens those relationships. You become an ensemble, not just of performers but an ensemble of friends." Clare, Melbourne Choir Leader In this week's Latest News, AGC Melbourne Choir Leader Clare shares her experiences of growing up in the inspirational environment of the Australian Girls Choir. From a junior chorister who tried a free trial class with her neighbour, Clare has blossomed into an inspiring leader and role model to her peers and younger choristers. 25.01.2022 Check out these behind the scenes photos of our recent performance with Amy Shark at the Sydney Opera House! The performance itself was filmed at sunset in the stunning Bennelong Restaurant, inside Sydney Opera House. The restaurant had been cleared of all furniture to accommodate this special performance. As the sun began to set and the colours inside the Opera House started to change, we had sixty minutes to capture the performance, running it many times and trying different musical shaping, different camera angles and making sure we captured the magic. It was an incredible opportunity for our choristers to observe Amy and her team collaborate musically between each take. Read more about the performance and go behind the scenes in this week's Latest News: https://ausgirlschoir.com.au/go-behind-the-scenes-of-agcs-/

17.01.2022 "There is a misconception that everyone who joins AGC wants to go into the performing arts. Where actually, we all had our own academic and career interests and the choir provided a place to grow and develop in the company of other driven young girls. I learned so many life lessons during my years in the choir, and it’s not until you reflect on it later that you fully appreciate how formative that time was and how it truly shapes the person you become." Katrina Vanin, AGC Alumna & Scholarship Donor From meeting Audrey Hepburn to making lifelong friends, in this week's Latest News Katrina reflects on her many wonderful memories with the choir and her commitment to providing the same personal development outcomes to girls through the ‘Per amore di essa’ scholarship.
