17.01.2022 AusIMM’s Institute or Resources Sector Service Awards recognise consistent and significant contribution to the ongoing success of AusIMM or the resources sector. Since joining AusIMM in 1994, Kate Sommerville FAusIMM(CP) has been an active and committed AusIMM member. Her contributions include serving two terms on the AusIMM Board from 2007-2012 and serving on the JORC Committee. Kate has also played an active role through mentoring and speaking at Women in Mining Network eve...nts, as well as appearing on industry panels. She has shared her knowledge through delivering and reviewing papers on many technical subjects, and serving on the conference organising committee for the 2018 Global Mining Leaders Conference. In 2013 Kate was nominated for and won the 2013 Professions Australia ‘Professional of the Year’ award, a testament to her dedication and expertise.
