18.01.2022 Ian Black has been a regular demonstrator at Modelling the Railways of NSW conventions. He has produced several books intended to make the information he provided at these demonstrations available to a wider audience. This third book which includes additional information and photos of completed models provides an overview of the DJH-Footplate Models range of loco kits along with background information and construction tips. This book is available at stephenjohnsonmodels.com.au//otherbooks/the-footplate-ride/

13.01.2022 Ian Black gave a demonstration at the 2019 Modelling the Railways of NSW convention on modelling the NSW 40 class locomotive. Rather than see the information he compiled fade into obscurity, he has put it in another book being released hot on the heels of ‘The Footplate Ride’. The book covers all the different ways to model 40 class locos including modifying US prototypes, kits, brass and ready to run. The book includes all of the physical changes to the class over time plus... the 3 different colour schemes: four including the post NSWR Robe River locos. It also has modelling references and sources of colour photos. There is also a description of how to lower the body of the Eureka RTR model. The book will be available from the Stephen Johnson Models on-line store https://stephenjohnsonmodels.com.au//modelling-the-nswgr-/ Stocks are expected to arrive on Monday 4/5 or Tuesday 5/5 next week.
