23.01.2022 Balloon play can be a great way to boost resilience; which is the ability to recover from setbacks and keep going even when things go wrong. It can also build persistence as they learn to keep trying even when it is difficult. These skills are important for emotional development and learning new things, in particular, by encouraging active play and allowing children to experience the shock or surprise of a burst balloon. #learningthroughplay #balloons #auskidslearningandkindergarten

22.01.2022 Writing with purpose. The Wallabies have set up a 'Dear Santa Writing Station' where the children are encouraged to explore writing, drawing and creating before posting these letters off to Santa. During this activity the children are exploring their grasp, extending their language and learning to communicate in written form, telling stories through language and pictures. #auskidslearningandkindergarten #languagedevelopment #writingletters #dearsanta #exploring #creating #WritingWithPurpose

13.01.2022 An important social skill that children learn when playing with dolls is how to process emotions such as empathy and compassion. Just like caring for their doll teaches responsibility, it teaches them to empathize with those around them and they learn to communicate with one another kindly and cooperate. By taking care of a doll, they learn how to take care of one another. #babies #roleplay #caring #learningthroughplay #auskidslearningandkindergarten
