20.01.2022 Re the proposed unified version of Australian Free-mon (which includes aspects from Aus-mon). Aspects recommended and open for discussion: Butt-Join method at module interfaces (Free-moN Standard Rev 6, 2011). Brass screws or PCB sleepers options for rail ends at module interface (single track PCB sleepers by Gapmaster (USA) and America-N (Germany) now available).... A track spacing tool be available for twin tracks spacing (similar to NLP club's tool) or a spacer for two single PCB sleeper sets or a possible custom made twin track PCB sleeper set from either Gapmaster or America-N). End Plate material thickness to be 16-20mm (18mm marine ply recommended). Small size 18mm sheets available ex stock at some larger hardware stores. End Plates to be held together by bolt and wing nut rather than clamp. An End Plate holes placement dimensions diagram to be included. Preferable to use the one brand of track on any particular module. Track brand minute height variation can be resolved at module interfaces. Peco points (turnouts), if used, to be shimmed. End Plates and Facia to be painted satin Black. Aluminium tubing ('Qubelok' preferred) may be used for framework and legs. Power bus and signal wiring to be twisted for long runs (to reduce radio interference). NCE UTP (Universal Throttle Panel) cab bus facia panel to be used (can be used with Lenz and Digitrax systems).
