12.01.2022 Why MAT? Kendall has been an athlete her whole life. Suffered from constant injuries and pain but was lucky to avoid any major injuries. After having an MAT session from one of her mentors during her younger years and experiencing the benefits it brings and as a result it flipped her volleyball game upside down! It allowed her to jump higher, hit harder and recover better.... Because of her rigorous practice schedule and training sessions her muscles were shutting off from stress and overuse. With MAT it helped to turn them back on and operate efficiently & effectively. Everything was working as it should and she excelled at volleyball because of it and with MAT, it helped her move on to the next level. In four years she went from riding the bench to getting recruited to play at colleges and representative teams around the United States. 09.01.2022 So you know a bit now about MAT but what happens during a session? We need to get a good idea of how your body has been operating. The first session will consist of an extensive discussion about your health history. This usually involves your injury history and training. The next step is an examination of your current ranges of motion at all the moveable joints in your body. These tests help identify your biggest limitations so we can formulate a proper treatment plan.... The next step involves a manual muscle test in a specific position and direction of force in order to emphasise certain muscle tissue. We will then formulate an ongoing treatment plan in order to increase your muscles ability to contract. We will constantly retest your muscles to see which method of activation is the most effective for your body.
