25.01.2022 Our network stood up well during today’s earthquake. Around 7,000 customers experienced a brief outage when safety features were activated across our network during the shake. While we have managed to restore power to most customers, regrettably, 19,500 customers are still without power. 15.01.2022 Thursday nights violent weather severely impacted our network across Eastern Victoria, knocking out power to over 120,000 homes and businesses. Were asking everyone to exercise extreme care and not to approach or make contact with any fallen or damaged powerlines. We were able to restore power to over 100,000 on Friday, our crews were out again at first light today and will be again tomorrow.... Unfortunately there are still approximately 8000 homes and businesses without power. Where we can safely work through the night, we will be. The damage we are fixing is extensive, with over 250 incidents of damage that require construction to repair our network, and a few thousand people could be without power all weekend. 13.01.2022 There’s been no shortage of hi-vis in Yea. Our crews were in town to install bushfire prevention technology and critical network upgrades. This project is part of our ongoing work to improve safety and reliability across our network ahead of summer. 12.01.2022 Following the biggest storm damage to our network in nearly two decades, there are currently around 4,600 homes and businesses in Melbournes outer East without power. More than 2,800 of those lost power during the extreme weather on Thursday night into Friday morning, and the rest are from the wild winds experienced on Sunday and early this morning. Were very sorry for those still without power. Where it is has been safe to do so weve worked through the night and had crews... out at dawn every day working to restore the power as safely and quickly as possible. 12.01.2022 There are still several thousands people across the Eastern Suburbs, Yarra Yalley, South West Gippsland and Eastern Victoria without power. We are very sorry for this, and can assure you were working as hard as we can to fix it. Were asking everyone to exercise extreme care and not to approach or make contact with any fallen or damaged powerlines.... The storm caused extensive damage to our network. There are more than 250 construction jobs that our crews are responding to as quickly as they safely can. However many of these jobs are complex because of the damage from the extreme weather. Late Thursday night and Friday we were able to restore power to more than 100,000 homes and business. We will do everything we can for the remaining 10,000 who are still off power. All our planned outages are cancelled, and every available resource is working to restore power. Where we can safely work through the night, we are. Unfortunately severe winds have been forecast for the next few days which could cause some delays in restoring your power we do apologise for this, but we are doing everything we can to keep our customers and crews safe. 11.01.2022 A new look for the Lang Lang Zone Substation: We're making upgrades that will help improve bushfire safety for over 6,500 customers in Lang Lang and surrounding areas including Nyora, Koo Wee Rup and Grantville. As part of the upgrades, we recently installed a new control room with state-of-the-art switchgear. Switchgear helps us to control and protect electrical equipment more easily. We also installed new Rapid Earth Fault Current Limiter (REFCL) bushfire mitigation technol...ogy. REFCL works like a safety switch and quickly switches off the power, helping reduce any risk of fire. Here you can see a time-lapse of the new building being installed.

This afternoon and into the night we are working to restore power to the last few dozen homes after more than 130,000 homes lost power from the severe weather last Thursday, Friday, and on the weekend. We’ve installed animal guards across our network to keep the critters, and our network, safe! That's great news for our customers too. In 2020, wildlife caused 1,700 outages on our network. ... 07.01.2022 Thursday nights violent weather caused the worst storm damage to our network since 2003 and impacted over 120,000 homes and businesses. Although we have made good progress restoring power to these customers, todays severe weather has caused more faults. We have been able to restore power to over 114,000 customers since Thursdays storms, unfortunately there are still around 5400 homes and businesses without power. After the worst storm damage in almost two decades, the dam...age we are fixing is extensive. Where they can, crews will work through the night to restore power to customers, however some customers will still be without power over the next few days.
