22.01.2022 Unfortunately in the past two weeks we have seen two confirmed cases of canine parvovirus from the Blacktown area. Parvo is a highly contagious virus that affe...cts puppies and dogs that are unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated. The common symptoms of parvo are: Lethargy Anorexia Vomiting Severe, bloody diarrhoea Fever Weight loss Weakness Depression Dehydration Because parvo is a virus, there is no real cure for it. Treatment is focused on managing the symptoms and preventing secondary bacterial infections. Intensive therapy in hospital provides the best chance for recovery. Parvo is preventable through vaccination. Puppies should receive vaccinations from 6-8 weeks, then boosters at 10-12 weeks, 14-16 weeks and then yearly. #westblacktownvet #vetclinic #parvovirus #parvokills #vaccinateyourdogs

20.01.2022 Donkey nannies in Italy . Every year in Italy, grazing animals are moved from high pastures down to the plains. Newborn lambs are unable to make this journey o...n their own. Instead, they ride in the pouches of a specially made saddle on the back of a donkey or a mule nanny. They are taken down at rest stops and returned to their mothers for a bite to eat and a bit of nuzzling. See more

04.01.2022 Don't be mistaken - there is only one Cat Protection Society of NSW Over the past few weeks, we’ve received some concerning calls from people who’d been mis...led or had misunderstood what organisation they were dealing with: when they called us at Cat Protection, they said they had been dealing with our ‘branch’ or a ‘representative’. In fact, we had no prior dealings with these callers. Don't fall for imitation! Follow these steps to make sure you're dealing with the real Cat Protection Society of NSW. See more
