25.01.2022 Have fun Qld Sabot kids (and parents!) at Youth Week! #sabotfamily #sabotsailing
24.01.2022 4 sabots sailed at Toronto in a drifting conditions on Sunday joining in their club racing. David, Lewis, Keisha and Marshall all had some good moments mixing with the other boats-lasers, flying ants and LT windsurfers. The Toronto race committee also made mention of being impressed with the sabot kids manners-hooray say their parents! After racing had finished, Marshall thought it would be fitting to the conditions to sail 1km home - backwards. Thanks again to Toronto Sailing Club for having us!
24.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers out there. At SQSA we are so thankful for your assistance in supporting both your children and other sailors on the water and off. The generosity of your time is the greatest gift to us that we always appreciate. We hope you are all spoilt today.
23.01.2022 Some big, exciting news coming from the ANSC and zones regarding the 57th Sabot Nationals in Townsville! Past Nationals held in Townsville have been widely regarded as one of the best for the sailors and families alike, with great sailing conditions and a holiday atmosphere. However COVID 19 has created ongoing uncertainty in terms of families being able to plan and commit to accommodation and transport, as well as challenges for the organising zone, with the impact on the N...orth Queensland economy. As a result ANSC advises that the 57th Sabot National Championships and Sabot Week to be hosted by North Queensland Sabots at Townsville Sailing Club has been rescheduled, to ensure maximum attendance and success, and will now be held 1 8 July 2021. The month of July is one of the best times of year in North Queensland, so the Nationals will be an event better event, and a great opportunity for those from the Southern States to escape winter! ANSC look forward to seeing all Sabots in Townsville in July 2021 for what will be a wonderful event of close racing and fun times. #sabotsailing #sabotfamily North Queensland Sabot Association South Queensland Sabot Association Sydney Sabots Lane Cove 12ft Sailing Skiff Club Drummoyne Sailing Club Juniors Northern NSW Sabot Sailing Assoc Australian Sailing - Queensland Australian Sailing

18.01.2022 CENSORED Nude Sabot! I may have found her history - or at least part of it! She is hull 398 - written up the inside back of her stern buoyancy chamber. I asked... on a local sabot group and someone remembers her as their boat when they were a kiddo- she thinks her name might have been Bumpy. She’s going to check for me :) See more

12.01.2022 Hey sailors, Popped down to the club to do a little flag maintenance with one of our fantastic club sponsors, Rod Mackay, RAMYB who has kindly agreed to renew h...is sponsorship of the club learn to sail program. Thanks so much Rod, we appreciate your continued support for both Toronto Amateur Sailing Club and RMYC toronto. Greta to have such a knowledgeable industry insider backing Sail Toronto! With the strong winds his blue flag ended a tangled up in blue, however, rod displayed his skills in flag flying craftsmanship and knot untangling to rectify. We also Hoisted our Windsurfer Class Flag as well. Both flying well with the strong westerlies at the moment! Michels Patisserie Toronto with Greg Stephens, Annie Li and the terrific team up at Toronto Town Square near Coles have also come on board with club sponsorship. Thanks so much guys, they make fantastic Coffee - Ive seen how Greg trains his staff on the fine art of coffee craftsmanship and I can guarantee you will enjoy their fabulous products. Michael Babbage from MEB Sailmakers is another great club supporter who does our repairs, he has agreed to supply a few new free sails for the clubs training dinghys this season. He has also provided some other free equipment for the club and regularly attends. If you have a business out there and would like to support our community not for profit volunteer run club, please contact us, we need your help and will do all we can to help your business. Individuals are also welcome to assist in any way, whether it be with a donation, assistance in canteen, maintenance or assisting with race organising, rescue boat duties, we welcome you to get in touch. The sailing season is almost here, preparations in earnest for a start of racing from 6th September and lessons (8 week program) from 18th October only $200 with all the gear and professional coaching provided for absolute beginners and more advanced coaching as needed. Kids can use their $100 nsw Gov active kids voucher making the 8 week course a very affordable sport option. Learn to sail a dinghy or windsurfer. Much easier than youd think! Also preparing for a fundraising rally to help the club buy some more exceptional learner equipment to make it even easier and more fun to join us. Older sailors, women and kids all very welcome. Volunteers will get a Covid friendly hug of appreciation from our team! We have windsurfing lessons, free of charge this Sunday morning with several students already booked in. If interested, please call Al Haynes on 0438336495 or email [email protected] To ensure we are prepared for your arrival and discuss your needs. We have had 6 Sabot sailing dinghys for sale, it seems we have possibly sold four to date with 2 left for sale in top condition- only $500 complete and ready to sail. Great for kids sailing, however we have 12 other dedicated teaching craft and a need for more space for storage so they need to be sold which will help us also fund repairs, new sails and equipment. Cheers and smooth sailing... the TASC Team.

07.01.2022 SQSA action today!
07.01.2022 In recognition of International Women’s Day on the 8th March we have been introducing some of our female sailors in team SQSA. Teshi is our team captain and is... looked up to and admired for her gentle leadership as well as her skills on the water. She is a dominant competitor who always has a smile. Teshi Collins Good What made you get into sailing? My mum got me into sailing as an afterschool activity. When did you start sailing? I started sailing 5 years ago when I was 10. What boats would you like to sail in the future? In the future I would like to sail big boats, skiffs, foiling or any boat that goes fast (not dad’s vagabond) Do you like sailing against other female sailors? Its good when I get the chance to sail against other female sailors in regattas especially in nationals where there are lots of competitive girls from across all states to race with. Do you think female sailors are better? I don’t think the ‘better sailor’ is established by gender whether its female or male its mostly about your own strategic plan, skill, and sportsmanship with other sailors on and off the water as well as good teamwork. . . . . . @sqsa_sabot @sqsa_sailing #internationalwomensday2021 #sabotsailing #sabots #sabotfamily #girlswhosail #welcometoourplayground #qldsailing #australiansailing #inspiration #sailingkids #sailingfamily #mooloolabasailingclub #lakecootharabasailingclub #toughcompetitor

03.01.2022 Some very sad news coming from our SQ Sabot family
02.01.2022 Day 2 of the NSW sabot states at Gosford Sailing Club. Three races run today in mostly calmer conditions, coupled with a few little spikes of southerly front which kept the kids on their toes. Thanks to GSC and it’s volunteers. Great effort by all of the kids, with lots of personal bests over the weekend throughout the fleet. See you all again at Round 2 in February 2021 at Drummoyne Sailing Club.
02.01.2022 Hello all I’m restoring a lovely little Sabot for my son at the moment, but the only identifying features she has are a number 7 on her daggerboard and amongs...t the layers of paint, a sticker of registration. No sail #. Does anyone recognise her? Turns out she has 398 written in her stern flotation tank. Ring bells for anyone? See more

02.01.2022 The weather was kind to us today and actually came in fairly decent after a less than promising start. Congratulations to Teshi who has won the ANSC Winter Rega...tta Trophy at RQYS Youth Week Regatta for the second consecutive year. I need to acknowledge the outstanding efforts from Ayla and Isabelle this weekend too, seems these two have been practising a lot during restrictions. 1st Teshi Collins-Good 2nd Ayla Barney 3rd Isabelle Houston Thanks to all the volunteers and officials at RQYS for their time and efforts this weekend and to our parents for helping on the support boat. #sabotsailing #sqsa #seriousfun #sabotfamily
01.01.2022 Most of you would have seen the heartbreaking news of the loss the Robba family has suffered. In this interview, Peter, who is a life member of ANSC, speaks about the familys loss, in a way that those of you who know Peter, which is many in the Sabot Family, only he can. A wonderful tribute to his son Zac. #sabotfamily
01.01.2022 Nice story about Mat Belcher from his home club, and a great shot of him holding his Sabot Handicap trophy!! #sabotfamily #sabotsailing
