23.01.2022 Please help us assist the communities of Tarapu and Chahare Khola, Lamjung. Recent landslides have destroyed 38 homes and injured ten people. Your donation will help support the purchase of construction materials and other resources. And, we will be able to get our amazing Nepali staff on-site to support the reconstruction effort.
23.01.2022 Loving the music and dancing from the Sherpa Song Dance competition - so much talent! Here's just one example - there are hundreds of entrants. Thanks for bringing this to our attention Ang Kami Sherpa. We're missing the colours, sounds, songs and our friends in Nepal but this helps bring joy. :)

20.01.2022 Today we sadly have heard the news of the passing of our faithful cook and team member, Raju Magar. He has been with us for 20 years being a solid member of our support staff on most of our expeditions. He is remembered for his great cooking, friendship and willingness to be an active member of our projects. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and HGI colleagues. May he Rest In Peace. Thank you Raju.
20.01.2022 Dear all, Namaste! It gives me immense pleasure to invite you to the Australia launch of my first novel, Parisccano, in Melbourne. As you may have already known, I spent the last few months in Nepal giving final shape to Parisccano and organizing its Nepal launch in January. I am intrigued by the affection showered on it since its Nepal release and I have intellectually benefitted from the critical appreciation received thus far. Parisccano is the story of a Nepali student in... Australia, her victory over struggles, her search for true love, and her realization of the inner self. It is therefore imperative that I share this story with you all in Australia. To place this novel in your hands, share this story with you and expect your feedback, I would like to invite you to the launch as follows: When: 5-8 pm, Sunday, March 01, 2020 Where: Cyprus Community of Melb & Vic, 495-497 Lygon Street, Brunswick East, Victoria, 3057 Your contribution: AUD$50. This amount shall be utilized to provide you three-course dinner including drinks. You shall also receive a copy of the novel. The remaining portion of the proceedings shall be donated to the Australian Nepalese Multicultural Centre (ANMC) to support its purpose and initiatives. A literary and musical evening, cultural performances and celebration of love my heartfelt invitation to you. Hope to see you there and give a toast to Parisccano. With love, Niru Tripathi P.S. Please RSVP to Graeme Kent at Aussie Action Abroad for catering purposes and any dietary requirements. Also, feel free to extend this invitation to your circle.

15.01.2022 Over the years Aussie Action Abroad has passed through the hustle and bustle of the Main Street of Besisahar. We have walked, shopped and met people as they went about their business. Besisahar like all of Nepal is challenged daily by the virus lockdown and streets are unusually empty. Aussie Action Abroad wishes our Nepali colleagues good health and safety. We hope to return to again support and work with our friends in Lamjung district.

11.01.2022 20 years ago this group of 100 young Australians ventured into Nepal for 2 months of community service and adventure. Some 2000 participants later we still provide opportunities for volunteers to share learn and grow. However with the current situation impacting our world we have cancelled planned trips and projects. We will be back. But in the meantime we ask for your support of your team members and colleagues to look after each other. Stay well stay healthy - stay at home. Until we meet face to face again, we wish participants, our Nepali families and friends and project partners good health.

05.01.2022 SERA WOMENS COMMUNITY CENTRE . A huge thank you to all our incredible participants for their wonderful contribution over the last month. Fantastic work! . Pictured here is work in progress at the Womens Community Centre, which our construction team completed in partnership with the Sera Aama Samuha (Mothers Group) and the community.... . This building was started by last years fantastic volunteers, who managed to build the foundations and ground level. A great example of how construction teams can sometimes work over many years to build long-term, effective and sustainable infrastructure for communities. .
