18.01.2022 Aussie Hydrovac Services recently supported Turnstone Archaeology in a cultural heritage survey at Beaudesert. Beau-desert (beautiful desert) was first occupied by indigenous people and then settled by sheep and cotton farmers around 1840. The site surveyed was identified as a high activity area around a lagoon and was a known hunting area for the Mununjali. The excavations identified an Aboriginal campsite potentially 4000 years old and recovered historical artefacts assoc...iated with the former Beaudesert Homestead (c 1842-1860s) and the historic Beaudesert Tramway built in 1904 and closed in 1944. This proved to be a very successful outcome for a potentially difficult project. It has cemented an excellent working relationship between Aussie Hydrovac Services and Turnstone Archaeology. The relationship between the Mununjali people and field staff also proved to be rewarding with a good outcome for all involved with this project. #turnstonearchaeology #AbbeyMuseumofArtandArchaeology https://www.facebook.com/AbbeyMuseum/

18.01.2022 AHS work for a number of major clients providing them with Public Utility Planning and Geotechnical Investigation/Pavement Investigation services. One such client required the PUP investigation of existing utility services for a proposed road upgrade. Challenges that became apparent were the numerous anomalies with the plans provided, for example, newly installed APA Gas services were not shown also access to some properties in low lying areas proved difficult. We were able to overcome all these challenges and successfully delivered a summary of all site works detailing utility services identified and their configuration to our satisfied client.

07.01.2022 AHS were recently engaged to work on the Inner City Bypass Expansion. The work involved hydro excavating six Jet Fan exhaust pits into the ICB tunnel under challenging conditions. A two stage schedule was required totalling an allowed 5 days for completion. In order to minimise material transport and disposal activities a retention basin was designed and built that enabled the temporary storage of the hydro excavated mud. This allowed for evaporation which reduced the volume of debris finally transported to land fill. The potential of adverse environmental impact was minimised and the project was successfully delivered and completed over the two stages 1 day ahead of schedule. Go to www.aussiehydrovac.com.au for further details on this and other recent projects carried out by Aussie Hydrovac Services #InnerCityBypassBrisbane
