25.01.2022 This beautiful organisation needs volunteers to knit anyone interested ? The wombat thanks you

25.01.2022 Hi everyone , want to put an idea out there. My Dad is currently in hospital and while he has family to go visit him, and he is able to chat to loved ones via Facebook messenger video chat there are a lot of people that have no family in Qld to come visit. So today while Dad was chatting to my Partner (via the iPad) , a lady next door to him was crying. When the nurse went to check on why she was crying, I heard him validate to her that it is very sad that other people are ge...tting visitors and she isn’t. So Michael ( the RN) and I had a brief chat. He said what a pity the hospitals didn’t have some iPads (etc) where family members could ( on a schedule) be able to FaceTime or whatever other video chats are available to have that real time face to face chat. Now I am so not tech savvy, so I guess I wanted to ask , can someone have a general Facebook site that then could be used for video chatting that is not person assigned. Now what I mean by that is I know I could attach something to my profile, but can a profile be set up by a hospital ward , so that family could video chat it to speak to relative in hospital. Then the second part is does anyone think people around Australia would be able to donate these to their local hospitals (regional) or even in their city hospitals to allow this to happen. One of the saddest things I have read in recent days was the amount of people dying in hospital with no family members being able to be with them. Anyway just wanted to ask if people think this is something that they think could make a difference.

25.01.2022 For anyone that might need something to make them smile

16.01.2022 Lol Australia certainly knows how to capture the worlds attention

13.01.2022 To everyone who is struggling at the moment, please feel free to pm us, we have no answers to job losses to the overwhelming feeling of despair or to the unknown future. We do however have 2 ears to listen, 2 arms to give you ( even if a virtual) hug and 2 eyes to share your tears

10.01.2022 Hi Guys, we have started a New page where people can share images or short videos of how you remembered the ANZAC's this year. You could show your child reciting a ANZAC poem or your family standing in your driveways with candles. "WE WILL REMEMER THEM" P.S would love if anyone could consider sharing this thank you

10.01.2022 I realise this is a very sad post, just wanted to share it so if anyone wanted to do this they could.

09.01.2022 So 2020 has been an absolutely awful year for so many reasons. Money has never been so hard to find and to be honest trying to find something to be joyful about has been a struggle. We are going to do the Christmas cards again. We have limited resources however we can not think of anything more important than telling someone that they haven’t been forgotten. So we have cards that we can send out to those that want to fill them out and can send a post pack out so you can send them to where you wish. ( we can provide addresses for Bush Fire Relief organisation’s and charities looking after farmers). We can’t organise any sign the card days because of COVID restrictions. As always thank you from the Wombat .

08.01.2022 We love these places. This is a little cafe tucked away to help people that don’t traditionally find work in cafes due to their circumstances, however are loved, and respected for the other things they can bring to the job , huge smiles , love and happiness.

05.01.2022 I have a photo of the lovely caravan donated by Paul and his family that went to Cobargo, however I unfortunately forgot to ask permission to put it up with another Rotarian who arranged it to be trucked down . So finally we can report another 2 moved. Now working on the one from Tasmania and the rest

03.01.2022 So with the COVID19 crisis going on we have had to make the heartbreaking decision to stop all attempts to move caravans/camper trailers. We wish to thank all those that offered donations which we have not been able to move. Your incredible offers showed what it means to be a Aussie . Please accept our deepest apologies. I know some of you thought we had forgotten about you, that wasn’t the case at all. Between work commitments and continuing calls emails etc I wish to personally say sorry if you felt abandoned.

03.01.2022 Thinking of everyone everywhere

02.01.2022 We are busy today

01.01.2022 As I am going through and applying for every job under the sun, I realised something. With all this spare time on our hands, maybe someone would like to join me writing or making Christmas cards for the farmers, Bush Fire victims etc. Maybe we can send them off in Dec when we have the money to do so. Just an idea, oh well better get back to looking for a job.
