24.01.2022 Over the years Aussie Action Abroad has passed through the hustle and bustle of the Main Street of Besisahar. We have walked, shopped and met people as they went about their business. Besisahar like all of Nepal is challenged daily by the virus lockdown and streets are unusually empty. Aussie Action Abroad wishes our Nepali colleagues good health and safety. We hope to return to again support and work with our friends in Lamjung district.

23.01.2022 Here's a lockdown treat - the honourable Graeme "Baje" Kent regaling the Ballarat Mechanics Institute with stories of adventures, achievements and friendships made in Nepal. This Friday night from the comfort of your desk/couch/bed/front porch/fireside......

23.01.2022 The 'Bhulbule Boys' of the Himalchuli youth club have shared this great video update. Great work guys! You can help us to support these communities through our Nepal Landslide Support Fund. Link in the comments below.

20.01.2022 And here's a more in-depth picture of the deep connection that Graeme Baje Kent and Aussie Action Abroad have established with communities in Nepal over 20 years brought to you by eNepal - "Graeme Baje - His immense love for Nepal and Nepalese people (biography)" Graeme shows off some of the treasures he's gathered and details how Aussie Action Abroad works with participants, partner organisations and communities on ventures that change lives. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRSoqRlWF30

20.01.2022 Loving the music and dancing from the Sherpa Song Dance competition - so much talent! Here's just one example - there are hundreds of entrants. Thanks for bringing this to our attention Ang Kami Sherpa. We're missing the colours, sounds, songs and our friends in Nepal but this helps bring joy. :)

20.01.2022 Please help us assist the communities of Tarapu and Chahare Khola, Lamjung. Recent landslides have destroyed 38 homes and injured ten people. Your donation will help support the purchase of construction materials and other resources. And, we will be able to get our amazing Nepali staff on-site to support the reconstruction effort.

18.01.2022 Is the next best thing to physically going to Nepal finding out about the ecosystems and wildlife from top experts? Himalayan Nature has been running a great series of webinars and here's the next one on migratory birds. Vicarious birdwatching from your armchair.......

18.01.2022 Graeme will be presenting at the Australian Landcare International AGM on a series of new Landcare projects in development with the Nepali communities of Lamjung, Gorkha and Solo Khumbu. Register through Australian Landcare International event page to access the stream from 4.00pm EST.

17.01.2022 Besisahar is the last big town we pass through on our way to many of our project sites. Unfortunately we cannot visit for a while but when we can we will return with community focused project teams. Register your interest for construction, health, education or trekking and we will make sure you are keep up to date with developments. In the meantime we wish you and our Nepali communities good health.

15.01.2022 Earlier this month we supported the foundation of a Sanitiser Training Program with our long-term partners @GlobalActioNepal. An initiative of the Youth Arena of Lalitpur, we are proud to be a part of this self-supporting initiative in the training, preparation and distribution of sanitiser to the community of Lalitpur.

13.01.2022 If you missed Graeme's presentation at the AGM of one of our partners Global Landcare International (until then known as Australian Landcare International) - it's now available on Youtube: https://youtu.be/NihjCd0IpdI We've been working together for the last 3 years to create and support a Landcare program in Nepal.

11.01.2022 Happy International Nurses Day. Thank you for all who have been with us in Nepal over our 20 years. Your contribution has been enormous. And to those doing what needs to be done at this time to keep us all safe. Thank you so much. Best wishes from AAA - look after yourselves.

11.01.2022 Namaste and greetings to all our friends, participants and colleagues at this Christmas time. Normally we would be packing furiously in readiness to board planes to start our next venture into Nepal with another team of volunteers. Unfortunately this year for us and for the rest of the world, things will be different. We will miss the time to share our Nepal, to contribute to meaningful community projects and connect with our long term partners. We know it has been a challen...ging year, but our hopes and plans are looking to the future to reconnect and rebuild our support to our Nepali colleagues. We wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas, a time to strengthen our commitment to Aussie Action Abroad family and assure you that we will return with a stronger commitment to embracing, hope, empowerment and change. We will return and we look forward to again enabling many more to understand and appreciate our connection with Nepali communities. The AAA team

08.01.2022 An update on our GoFundMe campaign - so far we've raised $1555 towards our goal of $2500 - we're almost there. Huge thanks to all those who've contributed to date.

07.01.2022 Love Nepal? Love Nature? Of course you do! As do we. We'd love to be there right now working with our friends, immersed in Nepal's unique environment. This could be the next best thing.....?

07.01.2022 Happy Mother’s Day to all of our mothers we meet in mothers groups across Nepal. May you be safe, well and supported. Stay strong.

06.01.2022 We're already in love with Nepal and as much as we want to share our love up close and personal - right now we have to do it from afar. This webinar looks like a great way to kindle, rekindle or deepen your love for Nepal from a distance. Never Ending Peace... And Love See more

06.01.2022 So grateful for the commitment of our partners to make a contribution to changing lives. A beautiful collaboration that will have huge ripple effects throughout the community.

05.01.2022 Passing love to our friends and communities in Nepal and Australia. Wishing you and yours good health. We look forward to the time we can work with you in person again.

05.01.2022 Does this bring back memories? An excellent display of the driving skills needed as you head out of Kathmandu Valley and up into the Himal.

04.01.2022 On this World Environment Day may we all see the light to maintain a world with clarity of mind, body and spirit to all that we live with.

01.01.2022 Happy Dashain Festival to all of our Nepali family @facebook.com/hginepal.trekking.

01.01.2022 Today we sadly have heard the news of the passing of our faithful cook and team member, Raju Magar. He has been with us for 20 years being a solid member of our support staff on most of our expeditions. He is remembered for his great cooking, friendship and willingness to be an active member of our projects. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and HGI colleagues. May he Rest In Peace. Thank you Raju.
