19.01.2022 Is it just us or are we seeing french doors everywhere at the moment! It’s ok, we’re not mad about it! French doors will always have a special place in our heart and we love that they’re seeing a comeback in not just traditional homes but new, coastal style homes also. ~ French Doors are a traditional style of door, originally invented to allow natural light in through large hinged windows in the 17th century. This once humble design is now a functional, elegant and undeniab...ly pretty style that is popping up in homes everywhere. We even love seeing them used internally, helping to zone different spaces in our homes yet not compromising on the light entering the space. ~ Available in both single and double glazing to meet your acoustic and thermal requirements, our french doors can keep your room warm in winter and cool in summer while adding another level of style to your project. 18.01.2022 How to Save Money On Your Reno Or New Build // Now typically these types of posts list how and where you can save dollars *upfront*....unfortunately this isn’t one of those posts. This post will tell you where to spend and invest upfront to make your money work harder and save you money in the *long term* (not as sexy I know but far more beneficial we promise). ~ A carefully considered renovation, that includes sustainable design principles, will not only improve the look an...d functionality of your home, but also help to reduce your utility bills via lower energy consumption and water usage, and improved thermal performance. ~ Our Upfront Investment Tips: Invest in good windows and doors with quality seals (as draughts can account for up to 25% of a home’s unwanted heat loss or gain!). Don’t skimp on insulation; poor quality insulation can mean heat losses and gains of 25-35% through the roof, walls and floors. See more

17.01.2022 The year that (almost) was // 2020 brought with it a lot of really fun projects along the way, one of those was hands down this beauty here... The Tumby Bay Tourism Tower. ~ If you’ve been to Tumby recently you’ve likely driven past it as it sits proudly on the foreshore. We got the opportunity to reglaze the tower earlier in the year which involved all of our team, a massive crane and some careful strategic planning for both safety and execution. We think it looks fantastic - thankyou to the Tumby Bay council for bringing us in on such an interesting and iconic project!

17.01.2022 Have you heard about passive design? It's a design that takes advantage of the climate to maintain a comfortable temperature range in the home, thereby reducing or even eliminating the need for machine based heating or cooling which accounts for about 40% of energy use in the average Australian home...so if you get it right, it's worth it! For your back pocket and the environment! There’s 5 Principles to perfecting it though and one of them is a solid investment in quality wi...ndows and doors. ~ Get this; up to 40% of a home’s heating energy can be lost and up to 87% of its heat can be gained through windows and doors...but the great news is it can be overcome with clever design and selecting the right glazing system. When building or renovating, it's imperative to consider your orientation and climate, while also considering the size and location when designing and selecting your windows and doors. ~ When you get to this stage in your project, pop by our showroom to discuss this in more detail, we can help talk you through it all ensuring your project hits that passive design focus. 10.01.2022 How to Care & Clean For Your Glass // The age old question, is it vinegar, water and newspaper? Is it Ajax Window Cleaner? Is it just a good ol’ spray with the hose? Here’s our top tips to keep your glass looking its best: 1: Only use cleaning materials which are free of grit and debris to avoid scratching and marking the glass surface. 2: When it comes to mirrors, Methylated Spirits is your friend, wipe the surface with a few drops on a damp cloth then polish with a lint... free cloth. 3. Avoid cleaners which contain Hydrofluoric or Phosphoric acid as they are corrosive to glass surfaces. 3. To prevent streaking, stop wiping when the glass is almost dry and there is a uniform residue of moisture left on the glass surface. The residue will quickly evaporate leaving a clean surface. ~ Voila! See more

08.01.2022 We’re coming back into summer which is about the time we all start thinking and preparing for those days back outside in the yard again. If you’re among those lucky enough to have a pool or are considering installing one then you’ve likely thought about your fencing options. ~ The biggest qualm with pool fences is finding the balance between function, regulations, budget and aesthetics.I mean it’s gotta look good right! That’s the whole point! The good news is pool fencing ...doesn't have to be expensive or unsightly. ~ Aluminum is a great choice for fencing as it comes in a variety of colours and can be a more affordable option with prices ranging from $500 - $900 for approx 10m of fencing. Glass is obviously gorgeous and a favourite material for most pool owners. A 10m glass fence could cost you somewhere between $800 - $1300 depending if you go for framed or frameless. ~ Both a great options and most importantly, both confirm to Australian Standards and Regulations and will keep your family safe.
