14.01.2022 In this drill to increase bounding and jumping length, we let the athlete set the challenge. Each cone is laid out to where they think they can stride or jump t...o. Each time they make a cone, they adjust the distance. The great thing from a coach’s point of view, is they are setting the level of the challenge and as the distance gets greater, I start to see the technique and leg drive that I’m after. Win/Win! Well done Dean and Harry! See more

14.01.2022 Not sure who is having more fun, the kids or the coach

12.01.2022 Unfortunately the Term 3 Aussie Aths program commencement in Victoria will be delayed, due to the July 8 reinstatement of the Stage 3 Stay at Home restriction...s by Victoria’s Chief Medical Officer. We share your disappointment and frustration, but are committed to playing our part in stopping the spread of this virus. These are challenging times but never has it been more important for our kids to stay active. We will continue to post content and ideas to encourage ways in which we can keep kids moving during lockdown 2.0. . #stayathome #stopthespread #covid19 #activekids #fitkids #healthykids

02.01.2022 FRONT PAGE NEWS. AND IT'S NOT GOOD NEWS... Researchers from the University of Tasmania compared the jumping ability of Aussie kids between 1985 and 2015 and fou...nd a 16cm decline in performance. That is no good. The study also found a decline in the muscle fitness of children of 11 per cent with the lead researcher Brooklyn Fraser (Menzies Institute for Medical Research) describing the magnitude of the drop in children’s fitness and muscle strength as quite alarming. This is exactly the kind of fitness fundamentals that our Aussie Aths program addresses for primary aged children. Find out more about the program and getting your kids fit and active - whether they aspire to be an Olympic long jumper or you aspire to getting them off the screens and moving! www.aussieaths.com.au

01.01.2022 Awesome work by 10 year old James over the hurdles tonight. We use the cones as a visual cue for the lead leg landing position and then work on bringing the trail leg through. James picked it up after about 5 goes, which is awesome!
