13.01.2022 Another bushfire baby photographed on Friday by Nelly a volunteer from Provence. I must say it again but these joeys are a miracle of nature having been conceiv...ed during the fire. Let's hope it doesn't another one in its life time (or mine). #authenticki #seeaustralia #seesouthaustralia #koalasofinstagram #wildkoala #abc #ABCmyphoto See more

12.01.2022 Most people think of koalas as fluffy sleepy creatures that are barely noticed by their neighbours. But anyone who lives near a koala forest in eastern Australi...a knows it's quite the opposite: they can be very loud residents, especially during summer nights. Their loud pig-like grunting snores, mostly uttered by males, tells other koalas the whereabouts of the caller, his size, and fitness. Females use this information to choose the best mate, while males use it to avoid bumping into other males, especially big & strong ones! Keep scrolling down or visit our video library to check the "Male koala singing" video if you've never heard a koala call! You'll be impressed! https://buff.ly/36DaHlZ

06.01.2022 Have you ever heard the calls of koalas? Watch the video and pay attention. They are loud pig-like grunting snores, mostly uttered by males - they vocalise part...ly to avoid conflicts with other males. Those calls give other males information on the whereabouts of the caller, his size and fitness. They don’t want to fight, certainly not against males who might hurt them, so they listen to the calls, respond and avoid bumping into each other. Those calls are also mating calls, intended to attract females. Koalas are amazing creatures, aren’t they? Read more interesting facts about them on our website. #koalarecovery #koalafacts https://buff.ly/2H3eBub

03.01.2022 Koala Gardens at Tuckurimba Favourites 1h Happy dance - PHOENIX is back! I didn't realise it was her in this shot, but I've seen her 3 times this week. Come on girls let's take over! (Jackie was here again today too, and Maggie has been around most days. Millie and Ellie might be persuaded to stay if we are lucky too!)

02.01.2022 https://buff.ly/2LCKjfs Hello human friends! Did you know our fur tells a lot about us? Look at this picture of me, Wongerrer, and my joey our fur looks squea...ky clean and healthy, doesn’t it? A healthy koala has beautiful fur! The place where we live says a lot about our fur as well. One of my friends from Queensland has very light grey, short fur because where he lives is hotter all year round, so it is better for him to be smaller and have shorter fur. #koalarecovery #savekoalas
