23.01.2022 Did you know I’m not actually a marine upholsterer, I’m a... ...teacher and marketing consultant! I studied business (management + marketing a communications), arts (linguistics, French and international communications) and education at uni and was working in those fields across Australia and Thailand until I had my son.... I’m in the role I’m in now because my Dad was presented with a great opportunity to take on a new role in the textiles industry after 38 years on the tools, so I took on the family business after moving my family back to Melbourne in 2018. So now, I run Aussie Boat Covers! I manage your jobs start to finish - I bring in the business from social media/ emails/ phone calls, I consult with you on the jobs you need done, send your quotes/ invoices, order the materials we need, I help pattern and fit it (skills I got from working with a learning from Dad for 31 years - swipe to see) collaborate with other trades working on your boat ...and my incredibly skilled staff are the LEGENDS who manufacture your long-lasting, hard-wearing, custom-fit boat covers, clears and upholstery I like to think that my time as a teacher prepared me really well for managing a team of individuals, my experience in (and huuuuge love of) email and social media marketing have been what’s driven opportunity after opportunity through our door/ inbox/ recent calls and my 31 years of learning from Dad has helped me build up my patterning and fittings skill set, as well as an enormous love for the marine industry.
