17.01.2022 Has anyone see Alter Boy, from Perth. There are six members in the group, 3-4 members who are deaf / hard-of-hearing. They have just recently been featured as an artist on Triple J, and they won a grant from Triple J earlier this year. Their music is electropop, with a hip-hop influence, and include LGBTQ+ themes: shiny, dark pop with chaotic performance art and Deaf/trans bodies. Here is a video for their song Bad Dream Break In. It is so wonderful to see successful DHOH young people and for DHOH artists!

10.01.2022 Did you know... The new iPhone IOS update has sound alerts for: Babies crying... Sirens Fire Smoke Door bells Etc... -Go into settings -Accessibility -Sound Recognition -Chose the sounds I just enabled it yesterday and It just alerted me of a siren at 4am. I have my phone silenced (why?) but the screen brightness woke me up. Interesting... It never once alerted me during the day when I had my CI on. I guess it’s trial and error time to see what works and doesn’t work well. I am wondering if it vibrates and or vibrates my Apple Watch too? I’d have to wear it at night but that’s easy enough. 05.01.2022 https://www.aussiedeafkids.org.au/sport.htmlSport is an important part of the Australian way of life. It is one of the main ways our children keep fit and healthy. The skills our children learn playing sport will build the foundations for the enjoyment of sport throughout their lives. Sport is FUN and children with hearing loss can participate in all sports with very little, if any, modifications.
