24.01.2022 Good morning friends of Aussie Disney. I was out yesterday morning collecting pine cones to stock up for our fire as winter is coming and I was thinking about the extra things our family does to make our trips to Disney affordable. As I was looking at all the trees I was thinking about how the birds don't worry about what they eat every day. The birds are a bit like our family when it comes to finding extra money for Disney. Since New South Wales has introduced bottle collec...tion centres we now collect all our bottles and cans and return them for money. This money as well as extra grocery money is put into a money tin and is then converted to US dollars a few weeks before we travel. This money is split between all our family members and is the cash on hand we have for holidays. Family members will bring their bottles home when they know that it contributes to spending money for their holiday. Check out some footage of Cars coming to Walt Disney World this year. 20.01.2022 Good morning friends of Aussie Disney. Another way our family saves money for our Disney Trips is by using our VISA Velocity Global Wallet account card. What I do is transfer $150 Australian to the VISA card every week. At the moment this equates to about $100 US dollars. I find that making this weekly transfer really helps us pay for all those holiday expenses and it is in US dollars when we go to use it with no additional money transfer fees. 14.01.2022 Good morning friends of Aussie Disney. Following on from this weeks tips on saving money for holidays is something I do to help us with our holiday. We use a Visa Velocity Global Wallet card. In America we have found that you need to have a VISA card as sometimes Mastercard or American Express are not always accepted. An example is Costco in America they don't take American Express or Mastercard. We like to get our gas (petrol) from Costco but when we pulled up at the petrol ...station they wouldn't even accept our VISA card. (They did in the store though) What we had to do was go into the Costco store and obtain their Costco card and put money from our VISA Velocity Global Wallet card on it. In my family I have a husband and a son who love gadgets. This year they must sell items around the house to finance their new gadgets. You could use this money for holidays and will be amazed by how quickly the cash adds up. I just watched Ayesha's Disney Story and it gave me tears in my eyes. Check our her story. We have done this and months later we still have extra meals tucked away to save those extra dollars during the week. One youtuber who does great meals for the freezer is Jamerrill Stewart. Another way our family saves money for our trips to Disney is that we use a meal plan called Hello Fresh and this has really cut down on all the extra money we used to waste on food shopping. We are a family of four and spend A$110 per week on Hello Fresh and we receive three dinners every week. It is surprising how this has helped our food budget shopping. Any additional money from our grocery budget goes into a money tin. Family members are very motivated when they know that a few weeks prior to our holiday the cash is converted into US dollars and they get an equal share. Try it on your family trust me it works. 01.01.2022 Good morning friends of Aussie Disney. When going to the movies with your family it can become very expensive. In order to save money you should see if your theatre has Member Mondays, your health insurance such as BUPA can offer cheaper tickets depending on where you live and don't forget to use your Member card at some theatres when purchasing food and drinks. Our family goes on Member Mondays where possible and our theatre Dendy has great discounts on the snack bar when we use our member card. We also get those extra free tickets after we see so many movies on our member card. Just some tips on how our family gets those Magical Memories into our lives.
