10.01.2022 Possible Trade War between China and USA, what does it mean for Australia and PATAZA Pty Ltd? The current trade dispute between China and USA is big news, dominating media and business news. As a SME involved in Export of Australian Food, we have an obligation, like thousands of businesses around the world, to consider the implications of a possible escalation in the current trade dispute between the United States and China.... We are all newbies in this current situation, with no similar precedents in the past 50 years. There can be no doubt that currently, USA and China are the main stakeholders, and our position is that this does not escalate in a way that negatively impacts Australia, as we are minnows compared to the big fish involved, and we have ability to influence. We will be updating our Latest New on our website www.aussiefoodexport.com with our opinions, and possible impact.

08.01.2022 Here is a reason why you should deal with reputable suppliers and why if prices seem to good to be true... its probably fake. China police have cracked down on sales of counterfeit Penfolds wine. Good work by China Police and TWE. Counterfeit products are the scourge of all industries, but particularly bad with Food products because of the impact on peoples lives - Dangerous for consumers and bad for trademark owners and producers.... We choose not to export Bulk Wine for this exact reason, in fact, we have been asked a few times if we can source bulk wine for export that tastes like Penfolds, we obviously said no! Many of the products we sell are available online in China for RIDICULOUS prices and the packaging is often a poor copy - we will post some images of fakey and real product. We hope for continued support in this area as it negatively impacts Australian suppliers, manufacturers and brand owners. http://www.smh.com.au//chinese-police-find-14000-bottles-o

08.01.2022 Another BIG day at Fine Food Australia and Commercial Drinks Show at the ICC in Darlings Harbour. You really need 2-3 days to visit the show at the new Convention Centre in Sydney. Today we also visited the Commercial Drinks section which showcases various Wines, Spirits, Craft Beers and Ciders. Lots of new products and meetings with new suppliers. Australia really should be proud of the many Australian Food producers in all categories. As mentioned yesterday, we were surpris...ed how many international exhibitors were present. With a large contingent of products from USA, China, Europe in fact, I havent seen so many international companies exhibiting in Australia. Obviously, as Australians we are keen to export our quality food products, but other companies also want to bring their brands and products to Australasia. Speaking with new suppliers and our existing suppliers exhibiting, everyone commented on how successful the show was for their business with Orders being placed for products on each day. Good News for our International guests and customers. Here are some photos, check out our website for more images of the Fine Food Australia trade show and New Products Made in Australia. www.aussiefoodexport.com See more

04.01.2022 Is all the Penfolds from Australia going overseas? Penfolds Wine in short supply in Australia. 90% going to China its claimed. We export Wine and we are constantly getting asked for Penfolds Bin 28, Bin 128, Bin 289 and Bin 407 among others.... We have waited expectantly for the release of new stock in October for the 2015 Vintage product. Much to our disappointment, we are being told by our regular suppliers that: - Their allocations of Bin product has been reduced (one customer went from 24 pallets to 5 pallets in total) - If you are able to buy Penfolds Bin range, you have to buy a parcel with small quantities of Bin and large quantities of other TWE brands such as Max and Koonunga Hill - All Australian stock is supplied with Crew Caps, only stock produced for Asia has Corks - Prices are very high if you can find any A recent article in the Australian (subscription) highlights that Domestic drinkers are having difficulty sourcing Penfolds https://lnkd.in/gEj_Y9a and this can also be explained by the this article showing that TWE is making records profits. https://lnkd.in/gJquXAs All of this makes for a very bleak outlook for Penfolds products from Australia, in fact, there may be a new market for Importing Penfolds Bin range into Australia, which would be a strange situation. We hope that this situation will change, and there are many examples of where the strategy of controlling distribution hasnt worked, just look at the Bellamys example. We are able to supply a range of Australian Wines, visit us at www.aussiefoodexport.com for more information. We will keep our customers and friends updated on Penfolds availability.
