Thank you to Patrick (MTS Trucking and Pilots) and Ryan (Reed Cranes) for making a hard trip bearable. Our first job to Adelaide will also be Brandines last job for the business. She has served her time well but unfortunately she has given up the ghost. ... --------------------------- Thank you to everyone for the support they have shown throughout this year. 19.01.2022 Looking for recommendations Who do you use for your insurances? Motor vehicle, public liability, income protection etc. ... In addition to that, what are your opinions on Nissan Xtrails? All opinions are welcome.
18.01.2022 A throwback to the first trip I ever did.
18.01.2022 DONT HESITATE When passing an oversize load do it with confidence. Do not slow down to take photos or rubber neck, this increases likelihood of an accident. When passing loads keep in mind they may be longer than you think. ... Always allow extra time to pass.
17.01.2022 GIVE US SPACE A little bit of trivia for the new followers, The first ever oversize load I was involved with, was with me in the hot seat. I moved a 4.5m wide tractor / potato planter from near Hobart, Tasmania.
17.01.2022 Big boy on the move. A move made easy with Steven from Patlins

14.01.2022 This message is not just for us in the industry. It is important that everyone is made aware of how to be safe in and around oversize vehicles. GIVE US SPACE.
13.01.2022 Look whos back! Its Brandine the van. Brenda the wagon is getting the royal treatment on the way to Wodonga. Whos that in the back? Could it be a new addition?
12.01.2022 To the pilots out there: What is the most important tool / item you carry in your vehicle, and why?
12.01.2022 This job has to be one of the best I have ever had. Always a bundle of laughs. It does help when you have a great crew to work with.

08.01.2022 Hopefully everyone has had an enjoyable and safe new year. On the subject of safety, Aussie Heavy Escorts has partnered with parent company Aussie Transport Services to deliver this safety campaign. Please like, share and comment each tip as they come through. GIVE US SPACE. ... When travelling behind an oversize load, do NOT travel side by side with the pilot. They may need to change lane with little or no notice. If you are permitted to pass, the pilot will leave the lane and wave you around. *************************** This weeks tip was sponsored by D-RA Creative Agency. They are the graphic design and marketing team behind the scenes helping this project come together. To sponsor a tip, please get in contact with the page. 07.01.2022 Its always good to work with someone who is communicative, a good conversationist and has a similar sense of humour. Troy from Leed Steel, Albury, it was a pleasure working with you.
07.01.2022 GIVE US SPACE Why did I decide to put together this campaign? Pretty simple, just like any one else, my family expects me to come home from work. It doesnt matter if I work as a pilot car driver, a police man, a security guard or a retail worker. Everyone deserves to go home at the end of the day. ... The fact that there is so little education surrounding heavy and oversize vehicles, is astounding. Enough is enough, we need more education.
07.01.2022 GIVE US SPACE What is the most impressive load you have ever moved, or have seen moved? For me it would be the 600 tonne generator super load out of Lacelles Wharf a few weeks ago, bound for Mortlake. I was not involved with it but was able to see it move out. A breathtaking experience.

04.01.2022 A man who needs little introduction... a good pilot, efficient steerer and an all round top bloke. When hes not steering a pilot car, he can be found mud wrestling giant sea turtles or reading poetry to Nepali sherpas atop Mt. Everest. Its the one an only... Patrick Thomassen from MTS Trucking and Pilots.
03.01.2022 If you see a pilot car towing an electronic message board (VMS) saying "Slow Moving Oversize Load Ahead". This... is why. Slow down, be patient and we will get you around as soon as possible.
02.01.2022 Some of you may have noticed a drop in regular posting. This is, in part, due to me no longer piloting. There are a number of reasons for getting out of the game. ... With family changes on the horizon I need to be closer to home on a permanent basis. To the clients who have made my time as a pilot an enjoyable one, thank you. The vast majority of people I have met in this industry have been amazing to get to know. Thank you all for the memories.
02.01.2022 Hard at work heading up Donnybrook rd.
02.01.2022 As of January next year Ill be launching a truck and oversize safety initiative. It will consist of a different theme every week for the duration of 2020. My intention is to educate the public on how to navigate the roads safely when coming into contact with oversize loads and pilots. To do this I will be goin to high schools in Victoria and teaching the next generation of drivers. This will hopefully begin a new wave of safety minded drivers and potentially reduce the ris...k of accidents on Victorian roads. At this stage I am looking for other companies to come on board and assist with this project. If you or someone you know would like to get on board, please send the page a private message and we can discuss it at length. Please like, share and tag your mates to spread the word.
