19.01.2022 Our community basket is full today with freshly grown lettuce, spinach and parsley straight from our gardens. We also have bread from our community donations. A new addition to our community give back program is our community wardrobe. The idea behind this is to provide excellent condition clothing to any of our families (adults and children) whom may be in need. Take what you need and give what you don’t. Currently there are some great dressy style clothes perfect for a job interview or the office.

We will be making temperature checks and pick up/drop off zones mandatory, reviewing our risk assessments and asking families to please stay at home if you are feeling unwell. We’re here to support you in any way we can during this time.

The aim of the project was to reflect as a team on current practice and embed quality change. Today we received a call from Dr Lesley Jones, the head of pedagogy and practice, informing us that Cassandra won! Congratulations Cass on such an impressive research project and for driving quality practice and reflection here at our centre! We are all so proud of you.

As an early childhood educator my main goal is guide children’s learning and development, while providing a safe and secure environment for all children to flourish within. 08.01.2022 This week we are celebrating National Recycling Week! Our centre is proud to promote recycling and sustainability year-round, through our Healthy World program. Our children are involved in sustainability through caring for our chicken and collecting her eggs. Watering and harvesting crops from our community garden. Recycling bins in our indoor and outdoor environments to promote and encourage recycling. Using edible flowers in our playdough!

Not only did we face a management change but the horrid covid! Whilst covid did impact our year and some of our special events we normally had, you all supported the ways in which we tried to overcome and provide the children with some sense of normality. Our team has gone above and beyond this year, and I could n...ot be prouder! Thank you for not only supporting what we have implemented this year, but also for supporting myself as I came into your service. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year with you all. As I enjoy four weeks with my own children and husband, I hand the reigns to Jess and Cass with all the confidence in the world. Have a wonderful and safe Christmas and New Year.
