11.01.2022 Look at the differences between a typical preschool childs hand (left) and a typical 7 year old hand (right). Want to know why a preschool aged child isnt a...ble to write yet? This is why! Their hands are still developing and are not fully formed. So what should they be doing to support this? PLAY!! Playdough, colouring, cutting, gluing, playing outside, digging in dirt, sensory play, dress up play, science experiments, beading, puzzles, throwing balls, etc. . All of these things help their hands develop. When they are physically ready to write, they will! No need to rush them, they will show you when they are ready. via @Raisingherbarefoot

06.01.2022 A massive thank you to Stanthorpe Quality Meats for donating some animal organs for our Kindy this week as we continue our exploration of the human body through science week. We are so excited and looking forward to dissecting them tomorrow with one of our Kindy mums Melinda Mel N Raymond Wood. Watch this space for exciting videos and photos of our dissections.
06.01.2022 Science Week Experiments Our kindergarten children invited the other classes to join them as they dissected animal organs. Children at this developmental stage thrive on experimentation and discovery. Our child-led approach here at Aussie Kindies Stanthorpe means that our little investigators are encouraged to ask questions, explore independently and review results to make conclusions.... We have loved being part of National Science Week - and cant wait to continue our learning of these concepts in the months ahead.
