Statistics show that: Globally, men die 6 years younger than women. 3 out of 4 suicides are men. 95% of people who die at work are men.... Men under 65 are four times more likely to die of heart disease than women. Men under 75 are twice as likely to die from preventable causes than women. We had a chat to Terry Fitzgerald about what this day means to him. ''For me, International Men’s Day is all about being a better person. We often see men portrayed in a negative light and some rightly so. We need to look for role models who share our values and therefore, steer our ship. Take 23-year-old Marcus Rashford as a prime example. A premier league and England international footballer. 12.01.2022 This month, we heard from Alec who has been working in Mount Isa. I was fortunate to gain a short MRI locum position in Mount Isa. The staff were great and very welcoming. The work was interesting and it allowed me to gain further experience in the challenges of Indigenous Health. Mount Isa is not the typical desired tourist destination, however, it does have appeal and the people are friendly.... It’s best and most endearing feature is its access to the Outback, this should be on everyone’s bucket list - amazing scenery and driving experience. This is what best about locum work, especially in remote regions. The great work/life balance allows you to meet challenges professionally and experience unique parts of this amazing country.
