Through this hideous year 2020 the absolute shining light has been the demand for adoptions. Cats we never dreamed would find homes have suddenly had two people wanting to adopt them, from the shy, to the seniors and the FIV+ cats it’s certainly kept Ingrid going through this difficult time. We would love to tell you that these two gorgeous girls began life knowing the stability & safety of growing up in a loving home like most dogs do, however this was simply not the case. Sadly the life they knew was that of a Puppy Farm dog. They didnt know what a home was, they didnt understand people or know how to feel safe around them. They certainly didnt know how to walk on a lead, be groomed or bathed or know how to trust a person. They were very shut down. 14.01.2022 Monty update today, Thank you Mary for sharing him with us. Monty is feeling the heat and his saviour/ rescuer Heather has been popping over to help give him a haircut as he has been developing some rashes caused by the heat. He has also been prescribed some creams to help soothe and calm and so as not to get infected by itching. Due to Monty’s background and mistreatment he can be very tetchy about anyone pocking and prodding him so thank goodness for Heather who he knows and trusts. Mary says besides the heat he is loving life and is such terrific company and she can’t imagine life without him in it

Also, the list goes on of the level of training, nature etc, and what the owner wants in a dog and what the dog will do for them and their family. Well, I'm asking for some special people who have the mindset like me and think not what a dog can do for them but what can I do for a special dog in need. How can I make their senio...r weeks, months or even years be the best that dog has ever had. Both came from homes where their elderly owner could no longer care for them and they did not come together so are being rehomed separately or together if you are a super special adopter with a huge heart.

He has the capacity to let you know what he wants and communicates by sitting in front of you with a quizzical f...ace, making talking sounds. Zephyr is very food motivated. Food on the bench can be tempting but his foster family is working on this behaviour and he is improving in leaps and bounds. As a result of the damage to my hooves, I may never be sound enough to be broken to saddle, but if someone is willing to trial corrective shoeing or boots I MAY be comfortable for trail riding down the track, but there is no guarantee. Bella is a little twinkle toes who will spin and prance when something exciting is happening. Marley loves to show off her two-step, jigging on her hind legs when she gets going. Both Marley and Bella have seizures although are not medicated at this point. Bella has them more frequently of the two, but both bounce back well after the initial episode. The girls will happily share their food with each other though. Theyre not fully toilet trained yet but should adapt quickly with access to a doggy door. Grooming is important for these little ladies, with regular brushing required to keep their fur from matting. Affection and human company is even more important for these two so theyre looking for a human who is home most of the time and who will happily live a quiet, loving life with this inseparable duo. Marley and Bella can both be a little anxious and will need some help, love and training to overcome this. Dirty, skinny with a nasty double ear infection and skin dermatitis. She was initially scared and snappy due to her discomfort and fear. Today she is a completely different dog. She is affectionate and quirky, her ears and skin are now clear and her coat gloriously soft and silky. Charlie came into care with n...o toilet training or general training at all. She has since become fully toilet trained with a doggy door but may still need some training in a new environment or in a home without a dog door. BUT I do have a few issues that need to be maintained going forward: I have separation anxiety so I cant be left without my human parents for too long I am hard of hearing that unfortunately is not selective Im a young soul and I still enjoy my walks at the dog park as ...I am quite social. My foster carer says I cant stay for too long as it makes my arthritis play up, but I would stay all day if I could. I also like to sit on the couch with my people as well and have a snuggle and am happy to sit in my bed watching you go about your day. When I came into foster care I was anxious and I didnt like to be touched, you cant blame me because I had been an outside dog my whole life, left to my own devices. I had ear infections, a flea infestation with hardly any fur, not desexed and that made me very sad and scared. I didnt know how to behave with humans, but in the short 5 weeks of being with Forever Friends, I have turned in to a new dog! I have came out of my shell as my foster family have taught me that humans are not that bad, they brag about how far Ive come in my behaviour, but its just me, Im a great dog! I do have separation anxiety as Im hard at hearing so my new family needs to be dedicated to put some time, patience and the attention that I need (that can be a lot until I feel safe) so I say again patience please! 02.01.2022 Freedom photos of Mini today. She has some teeth issues and we need to address some in continence issues when she sits down and she has a bad flea dermatitis and hair loss. We have organised a vet visit for her next week and she has some Cannopathy treatments coming for her skin issues. Huge thank you to Deeca for getting her from the pound for us.
