25.01.2022 Our Aussie annual awards were a little different this year being online but I had a really lovely surprise winning the state customer service award for ACT for the 2nd year in a row and this year the community service award. The customer service award was by your votes and the community service award was for our snacks for purpose that you and I did this year using the profits from the snack sales to pay for dogs washes for people who had lost work due to Covid. A massive Thankyou to every single one of you , you make my days an absolute pleasure.

25.01.2022 This magpie was pretty excited to pick up some dog fur my dryer blew off a doggy today - repurposing at its best. Don forget to leave a little pile for your magpies in a dry spot for them

24.01.2022 Once upon a time there lived a dog called Rosie the lab , she lived with her grandma Bonnie the lab and her human And her two cat friends . Innocent looking, but totally full of mischief and curiosity about what lies inside the cupboards and in the bath tub .

24.01.2022 On a very wet day it’s a good time to make Dex’s stew to add to his kibble. It’s so much cheaper than adding canned food to the kibble and healthier and lower in fat. You can do this all raw instead to add to kibble, makes sure your meat is lean. Then I freeze it into take away containers and pull it out as I need it . He’s got bone broth , apple cider vinegar, coconut oil, half teaspoon ginger , lamb, sweet potato, carrots, zucchini, broccoli, kale and red kidney beans. So ...sweet potato with skin on is good for anal glands, apple cider vinegar good for reducing yeast and inflammation and natural insect repellent, coconut oil good for improving skin and coat and reducing yeast, ginger for reducing inflammation, bone broth good for the gut and lots of good minerals, kale a natural superfood , kidney beans good for potassium. Normally I also add tumeric powder which is good for several things. Have a missed anything ? See more

15.01.2022 The hows Dex going with learning his tricks? This is no 3 - its the shell game - we have the odour birch in a tin in one of the shells and I have to move the shell and he has to find it and indicate to me which one has the odour. Still deciding what to do for trick no 4 and 5. So much fun to be had a chilly cold night after work if youre wondering what to do with your dog.

11.01.2022 So I tossed up putting this photo up there but wanted to explain why. Muzzle training is so important as muzzling a dog can be terrifying for the dog but can also stop them from reaching a threshold if they have been muzzle trained in a positive way with food. This lad here was adopted by this lovely family years ago he has no good experiences with water in any form as he has probably had bad treatment at the end of a water hose previously at his previous owners house . H...e feels like he has to attack the bath hose and he just gets less and less rational if I let him go on doing it - putting me at risk of being bitten from him unintentionally when he goes for the hose. I have had the pleasure of seeing this lovely older fella for over 2 years so far. Now when he comes out of the house he says a huge hello to me, happy for nails to be trimmed with a dremel but come bath I muzzle him he knows he can’t attack the hose so he stays calm and let’s me bath him quicker and dry without a fuss. Yes you can’t do this with all dogs but if they are muzzled trained they just chill wait for you to get them bathed. See more

09.01.2022 Ive talked to a few of you who have issues with your dogs cracked noses - heres the best stuff for it- you can get it from Belco pets in Oatley court Belconnen, the dogs can lick it but they wont lick it all off as its a lot thicker than other stuff you may try like coconut oil or paw paw ointment

08.01.2022 Sookie is one of my fav doggy people shes almost 10 years old but buzzs around the house after her bath, in her spare time she likes going to the farm and like a good toy boy dog goes for a rumble in the dam and mud . I see sookie every 3 weeks to get her clean back on.

07.01.2022 It happens- we try out best to not quick(cut the nail too short) and Ive been doing poor Tonic for years but today was the first time that I cut one of his nails too short and I quicked his dew claw. Its very hard with black nails so we are prob more cautious and conservative but it happens and I hate myself for the rest of the day. Hes going to give me very dirty looks next month when I see him . So know that if we cut one of your dogs nails and make them bleed we dwell on it far longer than your dog does

07.01.2022 Every 2 weeks since around October 2017 I think Ive been visiting chloe and cleaning her after her digging adventures. She moves to Queensland so I will miss her greatly but I know shell have a fab time finding new holes to be dug and new places to go for a walk with her family . Thankyou Chloe and family will miss you guys .

03.01.2022 Hi guys just a reminder to keep dogs home and cancel their bath if they are showing signs of kennel cough- it is highly contagious even if your dog is vaccinated but can be deadly for pups that havent had all their shots. 02.01.2022 A foggy start but then the sun came out and it was a great day - some of the highlights. Started with day with washing miss penny , then I headed over to do Murphy the staffy who drags him mum over to the bath he just loves his spa day, then across the road to give lucy a bath where I met her gorgeous chicken friends, then over to wash Bonnie the lab and her grand daughter lab Rosie who has just moved down here and lastly I headed over to bath Phoebe the black lab who loves a bath with a snack

02.01.2022 The question is always asked do some dogs love baths - yes the majority do love a bath - some may not like the water near their butt, or dryer near their head and some really are scared of water. Onyx however loves the whole thing from start to finish - just not the dryer on his front feet cause theyre a bit ticklish
